To have the ability to add that information would defeat the purpose of the box being unlisted in the first place.

Maybe that's true in some cases, but for the vast majority of my unlisted finds, they're unlisted on AQ only because the planter uses LbNA exclusively, or because they're hybrids listed on geocaching.com.

In any case, part of the previous poster's point is that the ?????? is kind of obnoxious. Why not a single ? or even n/a?

Well I am finally home... no Goodwill stores or thrift shops were open but I did get some boney stickers at a dollar store and hit one yard sale and then stopped by the Akron area to watch a few fireworks they must have been having to help me celebrate a great ending to a wonderful family reunion!

I had a wicked nice time as usual and the COFFEE MUG INN was the greatest. I now have a license plate frame too! Granny Butterfly and Coffee Mug are the best aren't they? I can't wait to come back in the fall and see all the colored leaves. We had so much fun! My cheeks are still sore from all the smilin'. I have a million stories, have I told you the one about the foot long hot dog at the cemetery? Or what "This is only a test" means (ALEX!). I still can't believe I am ALMOST as tall as Snapdragons Dad! And we found ANDREW JACKSON's consort at the pioneer cemetery! All this and Pepsi for breakfast! What could be better.

You guys are all the greatest bunch. Best thing about OUR family reunions are we all love each other.

Spirit Seeker and I may get together for a little haunting event at a real haunted place, in the future, at night... By then I should be able to get a few ghost stories together for the kiddies!

Hey I better get to bed, I've gotta a big day ahead of me tomorrow, eh today, trying to unpack the car and log all those boxes. The hiking was simply amazing and the company was incredible. And the after hours events were hilarious!

And did SM have ESP when he brought that burlap sack or did he see that I had a new box called Bone Yard's worst fear...

Oh yes and Athena had a great time to. She was a little shy when that big old Pioneer Spirit crawled into the backseat with her, and she was speechless all the way home, but she can't wait to go again, maybe she will even dress up for the "SHOT" event, unless Granny steals her hair again and goes as Miss Piggy!

Man, why did my camera go on the fritz???

Love you all!

HELP! :O)

I have seen this done before, so I know that is can be done, I just can't figure out how, so maybe I doing something incorrectly.

My Girl Scout troop is hosting a postal ring that will actually contain a bunch of series'... I have created a "test series" that I was hoping to list in the tracker to show how we would like the boxes to be listed.

However, when i try to add the series to the tracker, it will only let me list 1 of the boxes, not all of them as the series... I know that I was in another tracker where the box listed was the series, when you clicked the link, ygot both boxes in the series... How can I do this?

I'm sorry if that doesn't make sense. Please let me know if there is another way I can better explain it. I am very confused by this, lol.

Did you break 'em out by date received? If not, it'll be funny to look back at your online log in a couple years to the time you logged 350 finds in one day.

I did my best to log them for the real day that I found them! (I was keeping my spreadsheet updated to make it was easier to log them properly) So, no my find log doesn't look that weird. It really only went up about 100 cards today, because about 2/3 were actually already logged through the quickie swap board logging thingamabob. But I still had to send notes to the creators, so I counted those in my "unlogged card count", even though technically, they were logged. I could have taken the easy way out and not sent personal notes, but I like to contact people about their cards. I know how much I like to receive comments, so I try to do that myself, too. =)

Just so long as you don't delve too deep into the author's infamous sister's life. You would have to save that for the grown ups. LOL! Thanks- we 're so happy for her.

Your post was borderline, and one of the moderators seems to think it crossed the line and deleted it. It started off well, but you started ranting and becoming the very thing you were ranting against.

Also, while I do agree that nearly all of King T's posts are rather pointless and annoying, that is not against the rules for these message boards--especially when they're posted on the Yakking It Up board. It's kind of hard to get off topic "yakking it up." So those posts have not been deleted.

A couple of his posts that have gone too far have been deleted, and he has been warned to watch himself in the future.

But I'm not banning him or deleting his posts just because you find him annoying. That's what the "ignore member" button is for. Use it. Seriously. That's what it's for. I will delete his posts and freeze his account if he chooses not follow the terms of service in the future, but generally annoying and pointless posts is not a bannable offense.

I have a great big sheet of 1/4" thick black acrylic that I bought many years ago for a project and then ended up not using it. The stuff looks like black glass; in fact acrylic is also called plexiglas, and one common use is as a replacement for glass. It is really beautiful stuff. In fact, it comes with a layer of paper bonded to both sides to keep it from getting scratched. After you saw, drill, whatever, you peel the paper off to reveal this beautiful deep gloss finish.

The stuff is really hard as plastic goes. Cutting through the stuff with a hand saw takes perhaps twice as long as it would take to cut through oak -- which in turn takes about three times as long as cutting through pine.

Anyhow, I've got no real use for all this acrylic, and it's pretty, so I've been using it to back stamps. It's perfect for the job, although I suspect most people that find one of these stamps will scarcely notice the beautiful acrylic backing.

The thing is, though, that gluing to that shiny surface is not likely to work well. So, on the side that the foam bonds to, I've been sanding it up with sandpaper. Works fine. On the other side I will be gluing an oak handle, and that requires a more secure bond. So besides the sanding, I've been using my Dremel to chop a few nasty gouges in the surface to give the Gorilla Glue something to grab ahold of.

So the other night I'm preparing one of these pieces, and I'm not feeling too energetic about getting the Dremel out and a suitable bit chucked up. But hey, my Speedball #1 gouge is laying right here. I wonder if I can make any decent scratches in such hard plastic with it?

Well, folks, you simply wouldn't believe it. That gouge zips a little groove across the surface of that hard plastic just as easily -- heck, more easily -- than it digs a groove in rubber. Little tiny hard plastic threads peeling out. In a matter of seconds I had a nice little crosshatch pattern cut in the surface of the plastic, all ready for the glue.

Now I'm actually thinking about whether one could make a stamp outta this stuff. It's totally rigid, but for the upside-down method of stamping -- lay the stamp down face up, apply ink, then apply paper -- it might just work fine. Of course, this stuff being black would make it really difficult to see an image on it for carving. But you can cut really fine grooves in it, finer than you're likely to get in rubber. And it's durable.

Very interesting... What if you leave the paper on while carving and remove it once you're done? That may help visibility...

Just a thought,

Be careful of "free downloads". One of our reporters just did a story about some college students getting hit with fees/fines some amounting to $3000 because they thought they were getting free music. From what I understand the artists get pennies per song but the record companies dang sure want their cut.

Does anyone know just how many boxes there will be at L&B? I want to start preparing!

A unit of measure I sometimes use is gobo. Pronounced gob-oh...as in a gob of. A slightly smaller unit is loto.
