Maine Blueberries?

They always made my Grandpa reminisce about Vermont. :) Actually...maybe blueberry soup would be a better choice, since it's more of an appetizer and there are so many dessert options compared to appetizers and meals.

I was thinking apple pie sounded American. LOL, but a journey through the states sounds like Baked Alaska might make a better dessert...

Of course, if you're going to do pizza, you could do various regional variations. According to a friend there is a world of difference between CA pizza and a slice of NY pizza. Both good, but very different.

Ok, I have been thinking about this how to improve the random postal list. I have read the suggestions and came up with these requirements that I don't think are unreasonable. Let me know what you think.

1. A person must have completed a newbie ring OR 5 other postals before being added to the list.
2. In addition to their names and addresses, I would like an alternate contact email from everyone on the list.
3. Before I give out a person's address, I will check if they have logged on to AQ in the past 2 weeks. If not, I will contact them through AQ. If no response, I'll try their other email. If still no response after 1 week, I will remove them from the list.
4. Every few months, I'll send a short reminder to those on the list asking them for any changes in their status, address, etc.

Sound good?

Since the list of addresses that I currently have has not been updated in quite a while, I would like to ask that anyone who wants to be on the list, regardless of whether or not you were previously on the list, send me your current mailing address and alternate email address. That way, I will know that everyone on the list has read this. :)

Me, I have trouble taking photos of people and having carves look anything like PEOPLE!!

where do you get acetone or xylene from.

I'm not sure about xylene, but acetone is nail polish remover. You will want to get 100% pure acetone rather than the other nail polish removers with dyes, fragrances and other ingredients that make it less effective for transfers. I found it right next to all the other nail polish removers at my grocery store.

Just a thought...shouldn't there be something about the "experienced" people that have created gray/black holes? You have the "newbies" covered, but I see no restrictions for others. :)

Hi DM,
I think TG already must have went to bed, or she would be replying right now. I will tell you what I know. It is a postal that is sent around from a list as a surprise. You won't know of it till it shows up at your door. If you write Trekkie Gal and give her your address and such she will add you to the list. Then you too can get a nice surprise in the mailbox some time or other. But don't be surprised if it take a long time. The list can become quite long. I think she gets donations as well of boxes.
That's all I know, and she can fill you in with the rest. Give her a shout. She will be more than happy to let you know what all the buzz is about.

Quote 3. We recruited more people for our Soapbrat (soapbox) race.

Is this the Portland Adult one on the 16th?

I am involved this year in our group's one, Meetin Portland. Last year, it was a bar, very wooden and heavy and it broke down.

This year, we're using chicken wire and paper maché. Our theme is Dr. Suess.

If you're around and watching on August 16th, look for me & our Suessmobile. I'll be riding it at least part of time. I have wallpaper paste in my hair right now from working on it earlier tonight.

Thank you both for the explinations... I always do that - I get so excited about all these new things I learn of and ask questions before researching... lol......

I have a few questions to clarify this in my mind...

So, I know that I would sign up with TG.....

Does TG send out random stamps that just circle and cricle until they are full?
Does TG give you a list of addresses that you pick from or does TG tell you who to send it to?
Also, is TG the only one sending out stamps? Or do I "launch" one myself?

Sorry, don't mean to drive you crazy, I just wonder. :)
Thanks

One address. That way, I know where each postal has been (so the same person doesn't get it twice) and is going (in case it isn't heard from for a while)

They can circle until they are full. Sometimes they are recalled by their creators before they are full. Unfortunately, a lot of them have gone missing before they get anywhere near full.

Also, is TG the only one sending out stamps? Or do I "launch" one myself?

I have only launched one of my own. All of the others have been donated by kind people. :)

I am not going there with a take on someone's opinion on whether a newbie would be worthy of much on here, that is just an opinion...but ignorant...uh no I don't think so.

Not really sure, especially to keep it simple for you. But just because they log in does not mean they are not creating black holes. That is why it was just a thought.

TG is the ring leader of the random postal ring. She starts it, she controls it, she is the all knowing, [sort of], [she can't help it if a black hole appears] and yes, the boxes were donated to TG, if you planned on donating a box, you would then mail it to her and she would handle it.
Now, if you want to get a postal out there, it is a simple, lol, sort of a simple matter, to just make it a single and set up a tracker. I have not done this myself yet, cause I am chicken. But if you have so many that are retired or languishing at your home and you don't want to plant them traditionally, then you may choose to donate them to her. That does not mean you won't ever get them back. You can ask for them back at any time. As long as they are near an end, I would think of a certain group, or whatever. I'm thinking of the newbie ring here. May not be the same with the random group, however. She can tell you more on that subject.
Okay, think that about covers it, for as much as I know about it anyway.

You're taking it out of context. The poster was making a saarcastic reply to another post but I get the meaning.

I'm a newbie to rock climbing therefore I'm ignorant to some of the terminology and techniques of the acitvity. That does not mean that I have a low IQ I'm just not informed to the ways of the activity.

That is why she asks for a separate E-mail address other than AQ for contact. So if it still goes missing she has another way to get in touch with those not responding to AQ mail.
Nothing is for certain on anything, concerning the postals, newbie and veteran alike can mess up or become a black hole/gray hole, because of sickness or other such things. She wants to get this started and this is the best she can come up with. We want it to get started as well, and every one has been racking their brains to come up with a solution. No sure fire way for that to happen, or at least not yet. So you go with what you can, and deal wtih it as you can.
