Hi and welcome to Atlas Quest - the best Letterboxing site on the web! (Well, it is!) I personally would check out the help section here on the website below. It has the link to the main Postal Letterbox message board and group on Yahoo. You usually just have to catch one that is open at the right time, or you can make your own. Join the Yahoo group and there are plenty of people to give you advice on this and there is even a box there for newbies to sign up for that is always open. Just ask about it.

Let us know when you go. Judith and I need to get back there!

Well, depending on the weather once again, we are out of school on March 7th(teacher workday). We'd love to get back out there and get the ones we haven't gotten to yet. If the weather cooperates we will be boxing somewhere that day. Would love to join up with you if possible. You haven't boxed until you boxed with Little Princess and Ballfan, right Mark? By the time Ballfan is done for the day, he'd match Ryan's new theme here pretty good! =)

Okay, how many of you posted about the green theme just to have an excuse to post and get another star by your name? Come on... Don't think I'm not onto your little tricks. ;o)

About the Event Planner
Board: Event News and Planning
Mar 1, 2005 6:50pm
Thread Board
Just so everyone realizes it, you can list events that have already happened on the AQ Event Planner. That way, those who attended the event can still "signup" to show they've attended, which adds to their E-count in their profile. (Eventually, I plan to make a page that shows each of the events a given person has attended, but it's not an especially high priority at the moment.)

So if you have events in the past to list, by all means, help yourself! =) The focus is definitely on upcoming events, but there are absolutely no restrictions if you want to list old events.

Happy trails!

Note to all - Trail Name Change
Board: Atlas Quest Announcements
Mar 1, 2005 7:56pm
Thread Board
Previous Trail Name: eizabethw19
New Trail Name: Penguin Patrol

Reason for change: The old one is not the name used when I stamp into a box. It was just a random signup name I use for most websites. My AQ trail name needed to be different and fit my personal stamp and usual sign-in name.

Thanks Ryan!

After a frustrating day in letterboxing, I ended up the day with a reward!

I went out at lunch to pick up three boxes close to my work. I found the location of the first two boxes with no box in the location. I found out later they had been marked as suspected missing-go figure. By the time I finished trying to seek them out, lunch break was over.

After work, I was determined to get the third box and maybe another one. Well, box number 3 is no more either. It is a box that used to be hidden at Simpsonwood Retreat Center in Norcross. I followed the clues and passed the third pipe and just after the third pipe, they have plowed down all the trees. There is no more forest there to step in to! I found the rock mentioned in the midst of the mud and downed trees, but the box is no longer there.

Anyways, three boxes in a row-all gone. I was sooo frustrated by this point. I expect to find missing boxes every now and then, but I expect some good ones in the middle too.

I decided I would go ahead and try for ONE LAST PLACE. I decided to seek out Rambling Rose. I did indeed find her-AND inside of her box was my very first hitchhiker!!!! Who would have thought that Santa would have been hiding in the woods of Gwinnett County? I was soooo thrilled and all the frustration of the day melted away in an instant!

I can;t wait until the weekend when I can go out for a full day of letterboxing. Me and a friend are going out and we will have to balance new boxes for me with boxes I already found a week ago so she can get some cool stamps.

The question is, can I stay away until the weekend?

Eli has been sent a new logbook from the squeezeboxers. It is twice as thick so it should last longer. I think he's just waiting for a day to go back out. —Mark

Will the old logbook stay in the box? I may be up there the weekend of the 12/13th, and would love to see the original!

Hello back. I hope to make it out to the valley in the summer. Do you know any scenic camping out there? Any Civil War themed boxes out there?

Thinking about a box or HH, Stonewall Jackson's Lemons.

They want us to send it to them when we replace it. It's a small container, and I don't even know how the new one will fit into it alone. If it get's replaced before you get there (which I hope to have happen), let me know and maybe we can meet up before we send it off.

Forgot to tell you about the new logbook. They included a bunch of images from Dartmoor boxes in the back of the new logbook. So either book will be interesting to check out.

Does this mean just the host of these past events can post that event or can (just) a little ol' attendee post the event?

Quote Hi everyone,
I'm new to Atlas Quest and to PBLs. How do you get into these boxes? Most of the ones on the list are full even as they are listed.
Inquiring Minds want to know!!!... ;)
Regards, PWalker

I have posted 2 here on AQ just for AQ users. One is currently at it's limit now but will be hopefully going back out when it returns home. Another one was a maybe a little too girlie and it did not receive the response here that I wanted so I posted it on the yahoo pLb list.

I will be posting another AQ Exclusive pLb shortly just trying to catch a little break, I've had 3 recently sent out 1 part of a Ring and just need a little bit of a break to get my muse working again.
