I was looking at the MemberId assigned to new signups, which is "now" at 20,018. Pungent Bob is probably guessing right that some have quit (though I'm not sure how). Some have probably been quitted by administrators/moderators. I can imagine inappropriate MemberIds being deleted pronto.

It's also certain that some members have registered more than once due to forgetfulness or for stealth or fun (the McWhatevers that appeared en masse a month ago, for example). So neither the MemberId number nor the stats page is completely accurate for the actual number of people involved.

Still... Atlas Quest supports a tremendous amount of activity and does it very gracefully. I was just looking for an excuse to offer kudos!

I was just wondering what it would take to bribe REX out on the trails at STN MTN with us.

Too bad, TREX-- you should have held out for a bribe!

You know, you all could go a little sooner to Stone Mtn, like say... 5/24. :)

I wouldn't want to deter anyone from shedding a few pounds, but I would bet it'd be easier to clear the junk out of the trunk than to lose a couple of waist sizes.

HA! You said junk in the trunk...

I have some junk in my trunk I could stand to shed for sure!
Hmmm...it will make my car more efficient AND I can fit in my jeans! SWEET!

LMAO!

Nothing is wrong with melted chocolate, especially melted dark chocolate. I was just thinking that it could be a bit messy on the trail...

Ok, so I'll make Steve Buscemi cards for the two of us that like that whole hit-in-the-face-with-a-shovel look, and for "real" Heart Throb cards, I'll do Hugh Jackman.

Aww no, Craftymouse, you gotta do Buscemi for all of us!

Quote So what's everyone doing for the end of the year?

8th grade graduation, swim party (We have a pool IN our building...makes a GREAT incentive), movie night that they have to buy the way in to using microsociety money, field day, testing, possibly moving my room, early summer trainings, and two work related retreats...not to mention trying to get my house ready to sell, and a nursery ready in case it doesn't...

Egads! It's a good thing I love my job....'cause I SURELY don't get paid enough for all of that!

Let's face it, you are teacher material if you have the ability to bend over backwards, juggle, balance an unbelievable load, manage 30 rowdy kids, put out lots of little fires, have eyes in the back of your head and ears that can hear the slightest off color whisper, a sincere smile even if you are thinking what a load of bull you are hearing, a caring attitude even if you are sick of the person, and the ability to assure someone out of one side of your mouth, while criticizing their child's worst behaviors which are probably a reflection of their own worst habits out of the other....all while kissing up to SOMEONE or other and grading papers.

No wonder I'm so tired, I thought it was the pregnancy. Turns out I am one of many superheroes!

Do you think a one hour "check-in" time is sufficient? My thought was to have three "new" boxes carved and planted for the event day in a few of our more urban tourist areas were a couple of our "older" boxes are located, but I am unsure how to relay the clues to those other boxes. Did you provide clues in envelopes that required a correct corner to be torn off? Were the Willamette Valley Wine Strollers required to bring any items to check-in? When we did road rallies we typically brought items such as maps, telephone books etc. Did you give a prize(s)? For the best time(s) or points? I thought about giving something but it is likely we will have groups of unknown numbers. When we did rallies we usually paid an entry fee that was divided for the top three, with the top winner hosting the next rally. The RSVP Check-in is great. I also thought I could do an "emergency" envelope.
