Hi Alysonwonderland!

Unfortunately, you cannot log a find on AtlasQuest unless the placer (or adopter) has logged it in. If it is not listed on either site, I'm guessing it's a retired box. If you happen to remember the name of the placer and they have any other boxes planted, you could contact them through either site and ask if they'd post the letterbox on AQ.

Happy Hunting!

Just wanted to post a few web sites I found that have some cute ideas for fingerprint animals and creatures. (For those that don't remember doing this is school)

i thought some of these were adorable. Although i think my favorite was a group of seals I saw someone do at Passport to Letterboxing.

Upon counting our finds today for the first time in a few weeks, we
realized that the Bovine Madness was our 100th find! So much for
choosing which it would be, but what an appropriate 100th. Certainly
the most time spent on one box. Thanks D&D for a cool 100th stamp.

OK, I have two questions -
1. When I post a box to the list, where is the spell check? I can't type and really can't spell. And hopefully it has grammer check also.
2. How can I delete a box from my logbook? By mistake I put one in twice.
I know these are probably really easy questions so don't laugh. Computers and I don't think alike. ;)

There aren't any spell checks anywhere as of yet--neither here, LbNA, Yahoo Groups, etc. For now, the best I can recommend is typing your clues and messages into something like Microsoft Word, run it through spell or grammer checkers as necessary, then cut and paste the message to where you want to post it.

I do have on my to-do list adding a spell checker to these message boards (which would also work with sending mail messages and posting clues), but it's not likely I'll ever put in a grammer check. I have no timeline for when a spell check will be available here, however.

Quote How can I delete a box from my logbook?

If you drill down to the page that shows all the details of your letterbox, there's a link near the upper-right corner to delete the box. =)

Happy trails!

I am also in a couple of the rings. They are at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/postal_letterboxing/

There are no open rings at this time. If someone wants to start one they can though. Just read through the posts to see how it was done.

Basically it means that you will be flooded with Postal Mailboxes though. Unless you keep the Ring numbers low. I am on one with 18 and another with 10.

We also did a Postal Lettercard Exchange. 21 people bought 20 postcards or cards depicting their region and sent them out with their signiture stamp on them. I have received 5 so far. It's a blast.

Yes, I agree, Cherokee... when everything is said and done, and the dust has settled... in the end, people are more important than letterboxes.

We had fun at Tribble Mill Park. We found all 3 boxes and thought the stamps were very nice. Little Princes is a real artist!!

Our 17 month old helped find them. She has 13 boxes in her log book including 1 first find. This was the first time she did the stamp. What fun.

The park was much bigger than we thought and it was beautiful day to be there. There were many people out exercising.

Thanks Bzmom and Little Princes for showing us a new place.

At the house in Marietta I kissed them goodbye,
My little girl smiled with that gleam in her eye…
I retraced some steps from the previous day,
Took a right, then a left. I was well on my way!

Over a bridge too narrow for two,
Swerved ’round curves, crossed another bridge, too.
The lights at the lot were just blinking on,
The sun would be gone soon, gone until dawn.

Now where do I go? I asked the cold air.
I furrowed my brow, ran a hand through my hair.
I glanced to the road—there was a sign!
With trails on a map! Say, this is fine!

I wouldn’t remember from the look that I took,
So I sketched out the map in my letterbox book!
Light yielded to darkness—another short fade,
I slipped past a bench, down a path others made…

To be continued…

When you are a child who grows up on a dead-end street you learn every pace of the street as if it is your own fingerprint. Every pothole and pucker becomes a whorl of identity. It is a place of comfort and familiarity, an unspoken connection; black summer heat - swirling mirages of August happiness.
