there are ways to find this person

How?
The kids on the school bus are driving me crazy lately and I need to release some anger. (ok, a lot of anger and frustration)
Where is she/he? Let me at them. :)

my aunt (the lady who taught me to knit) thinks I'm nuts for doing my cables with a dpn.

on the other hand, she thinks I'm nuts for making socks from worsted weight rather than "sock yarn". but the "sock yarn" she uses costs $20-35 per pair...I can't afford that. I am very happily knitting socks on two circular needles, 24 sts per needle (48 per row) in wool ease (worsted weight) yarn. yummy warm socks, and they aren't self-striping, but I put very nice made-up-on-the-spot cable designs in, and no two pair are alike. love them, they're soft, warm, and comfy.

so who cares if I'm nuts or not?

Are Geocachers really that bad in general? I'm new to this whole thing so I'm still learning. Are they like...enemies?

not realy I started out as a Geocacher but changed over to letterboxing.

kinda like ribbing an work buddy who cheers for a different sports team.

Yes, we should all hide and seek responsibly, but, since when is every patch of moss, every leaf, and every bit of funghi considered a "sensitive ecosystem"? I am also amazed by all of the lovely pictures of the fragile biological matter which has apparently managed to survive the carnage inflicted upon these sites by villainous geocachers and manaical letterboxers! Please!

Sorry I can not join you all for Baby Goofy's event but 2000 miles round trip is a little far and our trips out west are on a budget of three and those three are already accounted for this year. May run into you in the fall or Christmas however.

perhaps they search the WEB?

That's what I figured when I first got the message, but when I spoke with her she said specifically that a couple of geocachers had brought the event listing on AQ to her attention.

I'm (mostly) tongue-in-cheek with the "turned us in" comment. ;) It's not a big deal, really!

So I've been in Georgia for 5 days with a NON-BOXING SISTER. Can you believe I've been forbidden to box? Ive been touring the lovely city of Savannah and I LOVE it and will surely be back. Today it is out to Cumberland Island and then back to Savannah before I fly out in the morning.

See you all next time!

Oh, No! Can't you sneak out and find some? Savannah is my favorite destination and I haven't been there in a couple years. Roam around during the day and River Street at night - and all those great restaurants!

Do the Tour of Savannah box, it is exploring some of the squares until right at the end when you have to go find a box. She might not notice that way.

What about the animals out there? The deer, antelope, bear, etc. Don't they walk through the forests trampling twigs, brush, sitting on stumps and walking on logs? I hope this memo went out to them too.

17. I keep some people's phone numbers in my phone just so I know not to answer when they call.

I actually had some telemarketers get my cell phone number. I saved their numbers (really, how many telemarketing firms are that stupid?) with the name "Cuss". I would answer the calls, spew venom for about 30 seconds and then hang up on them.

but I'd bet anything that everyone can find and push the snooze button from 3 feet away, in about 1.7 seconds, eyes closed, first time, every time!

For an added challenge mine is actually on the other side of the room meaning I have to take a step or two to reach it. I still don't miss, though have been known to smack the cat as well since he sleeps there sometimes.

He/she/they are trampling all over the precious environment they're trying to "save" in order to retrieve and destroy the boxes. And fussing about hiding a letterbox in a DEAD root stump... really? But he/she/they called it an "ancient" dead root stump, so it *must* be worthy of saving from evil letterboxers so that it can, you know, um... continue on it's job of rotting away unimpeded. (?!?)

I think his beef is that moss and mushrooms and fungus and things won't grow there because of the box and the people going to and from. But then he takes a picture of several different kinds on nearby plants and bushes and even labels them as growing "Close by" so I don't see what the huge issue is that ONE stump might not be home to the fungus. Particularly when anyone who passed high school biology knows that most moss and fungi grow like an underground carpet, skipping over areas it doesn't find suitable and continuing on unimpeded on the other side.

EDIT TO ADD: Oh, and I almost forgot to mention, not only does it grow in carpets, it will grow on ALMOST ANYTHING. Meaning if no boxers came by that particular stump for awhile, say...a month or two...a mushroom could very easily grown in the earth that collects on top of the box itself. I don't see this as a major ecological issue.

If you were closer to me, I'd totally try to help you sneak out. I know what it's like. My boyfriend thinks he's a boxer, but he's really really really not. I'm having trouble convincing him to go with me in our own town, so just imagine what it's like when we travel! I completely feel for you.

Not at this time, though I too have brought this up in the past since I also have some use for the concept.

Essentially, there are not any "negative filters" for the search pages. It will only find things that are marked (ie, positive filters) be it tag, hike length icon, etc.

Welcome to boxing, Sunnyslope. You're getting some good advice here about restrictions. Let me add that recent events in Washington have encouraged many local boxers to increase their restrictions... hopefully temporarily. If you go to the Washington message board, you can read all about the jerk-face who is finding and throwing away letterboxes here in the area.

search for all boxes, click the check box only by the untagged ones, and hit print. a new page will open up with only the untagged boxes on it.

read, copy and paste, or whatever. sometimes I will look at the print page, then go back and unclick some of them before printing or copying to my clues document.

Just the wire cutters for me--in the "original" blue (Not being a pink kinda girl myself)

I did splurge and get the case thought, which nice, but not designed how I would want it.

Looking forward to some rainy days so I can catch up on my cleaning THEN on my logbook making. Lots of stamps to pliant; just need to make the time to finish the boxes!!

click the check box only by the untagged ones

I place a pushpin on a mapping program for every letterbox that I solve and have not yet found in the state of Pennsylvania and then I tag them on AQ. Since there are over 800 boxes that I have not found, I was trying to avoid going through all of them to look for ones that I may have missed tagging on AQ. It looks as though manually reviewing them may be my only option.
