Sharks have a new coach (straight from a successful engagement at the aforementioned so-called hockeytown)

Let me tell you something wassa. Sharks just lost their rental d-man (Campbell) from Buffalo to CHiCAGO Who also has Patrick Kane (BUFFALO NATIVE), Jonathan Toews, and Huet in Net.

Not to mention Scotty Bowman just went there. If only Havlat could stay healthy...

AND Buffalo just got Rivet from SJS

LET'S TALK HOCKEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi, David-

Don't know if we've ever talked but I feel like I know you. You've done some exchanges with my twin Travel'n Turtle, I believe. I'd love to do some carves. I'm related to two of the presidents (2nd - John Adams & 6th - John Quincy Adams)!!! :-D Will you keep the stamps and plant them afterwards? Should I send logbooks too? What size would you like?

Well, JLB, you inspired me and I've planted my very own garden box!! http://www.atlasquest.com/showinfo.html?gBoxId=85323 Since it's in an easy location to change, I've decided to do a revolving stamp that changes with the seasons (Yorkshire Tortoise's personal traveller gave me the idea!). During holidays, there will be a bonus stamp. We don't get a lot of LB traffic over here in England, so it'll be interesting to see how well received it is. I've been going with the 'plant them and they will come' theory and slowly they are. My *Mini Madness* box has a local fan club of at least two young families that every month they come check on it and sign in (no stamps yet). They even have their dog stamp in with a paw print!!

You are right about the Originals...my bad for miscounting...and I bet Scotty Bowman doesn't last as long in SJ as he did before in HOCKEYTOWN...but I do admit he is he winningest coach around...but he still isn't in HOCKEYTOWN...now if only someone would off those losers with the funny name from that Disney movie...be safe...

Quote Browsing through the thread, I see no one has mentioned Ken Follett... his stuff is NEVER what I would deem "adult", but some of the scenes in his books are quite steamy.

Oh and the Clan of the Cave Bear books, lots of steamy stuff happening there too.

OK, I just watched it last night. I loved Leanne's skirt and top. I thought that was awesome. I don't really like Kenley's dress either...

I remember Stella specifically saying that when she got there, she was excited for the chance to work with something "otha than leathuh." And now she either makes stuff out of leathuh or complains that she can't (like last week).

I loved the whole leathuh discussion last week. "My husband is made of leathuh... My kids came out of me leathuh..."

For the cozy mysteries, I have to second the Aunt Dimity ones! Very cute and funny too.

Arly Hanks Mysteries by Joan Hess all take place in a town in Arkansas called Maggody, hilarious stuff!

For puzzles, John Dickson Carr does the locked room style mysteries.

There is a wonderful book called Detecting Women that has checklists and descriptions of mysteries written by women.

http://www.amazon.com/Detecting-Women-Readers-Checklist-Mystery/dp/0964459361

They cross reference them in all sorts of ways....seperating them by location (NYC, PNW, Florida, Maggody AR etc), occupation (cop, caterer, dogwalker, etc), type, (cozy, hardboiled, etc) etc etc etc

I found this book to be a wonderful help in finding new authors to read. I think there is also a Detecting Men too! (or there was a 1st edition --because I got that too --but I think they are up to the 3rd or 4th editions now)

"Oh, by the way, is there any chance that the town of Mansfield could be moved closer to Shelton? I keep reading jealously about these boxes of the month. Wait, is that anywhere near Scotland? My husband wants to go to a tool museum in Scotland. Hmmm..."

~Scotland is not very far from Mansfield at all. It woud be very easy to make a day, or many more, of letterboxing in Mansfield. If you got to Scotland, you should stop in the general store. They have delicious grinders/sandwiches.

Flutterby~

P.S. The next round of these boxes will be a little closer to you-New London county anyhow.

"If someone can teach me how to carve faces, I would carve presidents. But, I have been unsuccessful at taking photos of people and turning them into carves that look like the person. I need to see the black and white to carve. For the shading, I need it to already be dotty or hatched or ... And, I don't have any of those programs others have."

~Butterfly Suzy,

Try this link:

You attach a photo, and it comes back to you as a sketch with all of the shading etc. done for you.

I got YELLED at at the very first event I ever attended. We hadn't been letterboxing long at all ....... and I talked about something that I wasn't supposed to according to the "rules". I wish the person would have had your filter...... and quietly advised me that I had BLUNDERED, instead of yelling at me in front of 50 people.

:-O
That scares me to half to death since I'm attending my first event soon. When someone treats me nasty (like I'm stupid) I tend to get really hurt/offended. Good Lord, I hope it doesn't happen to me, I'll just go sleep in my tent and I'll take all my rice crispie treats with me...

Kind of leads me back to my comment two days ago.. it's overwhelming for a newcomer...

Us newbies ARE TRYING REALLY HARD..

And TY Ryan for binging back the numbers in the ribbons...

Well ring leaders who are on the list could send the names of black holes to TG. Since this is an anonymous listing and not posting names to the public it should take care of the problem.

I am INFP. Probably why I enjoy LTCs and other things. :-D

INFPs are introspective, private, creative and highly idealistic individuals that have a constant desire to be on a meaningful path. They are driven by their values and seek peace. Empathetic and compassionate, they want to help others and humanity as a whole. INFPs are imaginitive, artistic and often have a talent for language and writing. They can also be described as easygoing, selfless, guarded, adaptable, patient and loyal.

"To understand Healers, we must understand their idealism as almost boundless and selfless, inspiring them to make extraordinary sacrifices for someone or something they believe in. The Healer is the Prince or Princess of fairytale, the King's Champion or Defender of the Faith..."

Highly creative, artistic and spiritual, they can produce wonderful works of art, music and literature. INFPs are natural artists. They will find great satisfaction if they encourage and develop their artistic abilities. An INFP should allow himself or herself some artistic outlet, because it will add enrichment and positive energy to their life."

Their job must be fun, although not racous, and it must be meaningful to them. They need a strong purpose in their work.

Your mission if you choose to accept it is to start dancing... yup, we need some SERIOUS sun dancing going on. I can't get the sun here all by myself. So start dancing folks, unless you like swimming, camping, smorin, and boxing in the rain.

Should have thought to ask the Merry Pranksters to bring the sun with them again... maybe they can set it loose so it will show up for our little party...

I can get there, the only time they block is the "adult content" pages. Since I onlt draw blood, I have more time on my hands and corporate could check my number if they feel I'm not getting stuff done. I do however take my carving stuff on the weekends.
