Quote I actually LIKE the buttons but wondered if you might be able to add back the old "click here for clue" link that used to be by the first aid comment there too?

Hmmm.... I took it away to help reduce the redundancy of links, but I'll add it back for now until I think of a way to allow people to open clues in a new window. I'm half tempted to make the clues open in a new window since if it's not an AQ hosted clue, there's no way back to the details page to record it as a find or continue surfing AQ.

Does anyone have any opinions on the matter? Should clues always open up in a new window? Should they not? Do you care? =)

I only log on here two or three times a week. I hope nothing of mine gets declared orphaned based on missing a post on the wrong day.

The Unluckyletterboxers are from my part of the world. Their participation has ebbed and flowed over time. I just sent them an email letting them know of this discussion. I sent them a link to one of your LbNA letterboxes, so they might use that contact the placer link to reach you. Or they might join here. Or I might be relaying stuff.

If you don't hear from them, then the advice to put an extra sheet of paper and send it on its way seems best. I recall that they did a decent job on stamps and I'm sure that others will enjoy finding it, regardless of its trackability.

Leap Year was on Wanda and Pete's list with its movements reported through Red's Bunch's discovery in May 2005. Where has this HH been since then?

I think I prefer it not to open in a new window (tab in my case). If it is an LbNA clue I just hit the browser back button. When things open in a new window, (e.g. 'Post Message' when replying to a message) I tend to end up with a load of windows/tabs open without realizing it until I close down.

When I use Opera it tends to treat AQ new windows as pop-ups so I have to watch for them and click on the tab before it disappears which can be rather a pain, particularly if I am not quick enough.

By the way, another great theme Ryan, although I had to look twice to realize it was a theme. At first glance the lines across the page looked like another of your building works break downs. Then I caught on LOL

I am the one who brought it up and even I don't think they should always open in a new window. However, I do prefer having that option when I want it. So if the choices are all or none, I would go with all.

Hawkeye,

When I couldn't find the owners (and this being our first HH), we just decided to keep it going. I didn't think to use the community to find the owners or add new pages, so kudos to you for trying. We just found some blank space and added the stamps.

We found it at Sope Creek (Marietta, GA) and left it in Woodstock GA since we weren't heading out of state anytime soon.

Lucky you! Here is SC, we will be starting after 8/15 next year. Probably go most of the month of May too. That would be OK if the kids were benefitting, but they aren't. Sort of like taking away recess or extending the day so that standards for those stupid tests can be covered.......and they aren't any "smarter" than kids were 20 years ago.

Oh, I need to get off my soapbox!!!!!

Yes, my kids went back to school TODAY, Aug. 1. And the school year lasts until Memorial Day weekend. BUT, we get extra time off during the year... a week in September, two weeks in December, a week in February, a week in April, plus a couple of miscellaneous holidays, but those are kept to a minimum.

I have my own opinions about those stupid standardized tests, but I really kind of like our calendar. The object here was not so much for testing but to try to improve kids' retention of what they learned over the summer. Shorter summer, less time to forget everything you learned last year. Also, having the week-long breaks spread throughout the year is nice - it lets us take vacations when the weather is less hot/sticky as everyone has been complaining of lately.

Sure, summer is short. But it's still two full months and frankly that's as much family togetherness as our family needs in one dose. For us, it works fine.

So, engine = gas and motor = electic, is that correct? My Honda hybrid has an electric MOTOR that assists my gasoline ENGINE.

Oh, and Eyebob? The reason you didn't fly and landed in the bushes is that you obviously didn't have your super hero towel tied around your neck. Gotta remember those kinda things!
