<I headed out there this evening but was unable to find them. (I was a little too shy to knock on every trailer door and say hi are you Don and Gwen?) I also felt like they might have been gone out to dinner, there were a couple of trailer that had no activity and no vehicels around the area that Kurious jo and Wood aug said that they might be. Kind of a let down but oh well.>

Oh, Mystic Dreamer, you were there! We missed you, darn it. We did go out to dinner that night. Having not met Don & Gwen before, I wasn't sure how they'd feel about giving out their site # and we didn't know which site we'd be in. As it turns out Don & Gwen are the dearest people and wouldn't have minded a bit!

And now that I read the thread, I see that you posted and I didn't check it. Next time I'll send you our cell number. Think I'll get creative about marking our RV more prominently too. Hmmmm . . .

As we were boxing, we kept finding DblTree's name in the log books dated the same day we were there! We didn't see her either.

Also, a friend of Don & Gwen's lives in Hood River, is a new convert and could use a letterboxing companion. Hope she signs up on the boards and gets connected with you all.

Kurious Jo

ps. Love the stamp in Gentle Touch!

LOL, will they get a certificate if they pass?

Quote Do I have to have a separate blog for a buddy or can I just post adventures on my blog

If you already have a blog, you could start with posting there and then if you really want to you could start a separate blog later.

Yes, the other state boards do seem to chat more now, so much so that even I often skip them. I rarely skip your board though, unless I am on hols. Too many friends here, I like to know what you are up to :-)

NO MORE BOXES IN THE ROCK WALL! DO NOT SEARCH THERE! Howl is retired, but a new "Howling at the Moon" is in place with a new logbook in a new location! See you on the trail!

Quote I just read the link to this event and it says there are cootie shots to prevent cootie infections. Are you kidding? I didn't know there was such a thing in lbing.

I hadn't heard of it either, but I doubt I was the first to think of it. I think it will be a good solution to the cootie breaking point. LOL

Quote I think that is a great idea...I have heard of cootie jails and thought that was also a great idea. I also liked the idea of charging a dollar for the shot...that money can always be applied to cover the cost of supplies and shelter fees. I may do this at the gathering that I am co-hosting.

That's *exactly* the idea. I really like to throw a great gathering, and every little bit helps to cover it! I figure, most people will play the cootie game at the beginning of the gathering, and when they are over it, they can spare a dollar for a cootie shot sticker. I bought those fluorescent garage sale circles - they'll be hard to miss. LOL!

Quote Honestly...I love a hitchhiker, but cooties are too hard for me to get rid of...just my personal opinion...don't mean to offend you "cooties lovers" out there!! =0)

I love cooties. I think they are fun when they are made creatively. However, there is definitely a breaking point. Hopefully, the cootie shot idea will make cooties fun for everyone! :o)

I'm so glad the idea is going over well!!!!!

What? 100? The thought of taking on a second one freaks me out, LOL. You must be an organized person.

I just got a friend/coworker into letterboxing and she signed up for her first PLB. I was going to sign up with her, then thought I'd wait a bit.

Congrats,

The Big Lots ink pads are crap. Don't waste your money. If you have a Giant Tiger near you, they have their version of Lock n Locks for 99 cents and 1.99, depending on the shape you want. We just stocked up after the Northern NY gather.

Folks,

Why don't you just invite them to the BBQ? That way they would meet a lot more people.

Keep an eye out for when the ring is retired. Some people send theirs out as a single afterwards to fill up the logbook and you can always email someone once they have it reurned and ask them to send it to you.

Mine is vertical, it is a parrot with my trail initials. But when a logbook is shaped odd or is too small, I have been known to only place the parrots head on there.
