Oh yeah, my step-mom sent me that one as I usually am in the grocery store with a parade of children between my own and my daycare kids. When I told my oldest boys about it my 11 yo asked my why the mom sold the Pokemon cards and not the kids????

OK ... now THAT is a good question. Insightful guy you've got there!!

I guess she got 15x what these cards were worth (just a guess?) and it was LEGAL ... selling the kids? Well, maybe not so much. :-)

OK, I have a couple.

One was the time machine....the pictures were great, it was basically a dressed up fridge box and some dryer hose, but the seller had dressed up in a British Officer's uniform and was stepping out of the box...the background was dinosaurs and such. It was only missing the fluxcapacitor...which you could also find on E-Bay.

The other one was a stainless steel tea kettle..no big deal. But the seller had taken the picture of the kettle while in the nude..and you could see a distorted reflection in the kettle.

DH says check out Playstation 3s and X-box auctions to see how many are sold by frustrated parents.

No wonder my items aren't selling for much on Ebay! I need to be a little more creative in my story telling.

This truly was a good one. Sounds like something my Mom would have done if there had been Ebay way back then.
Once we were out in this field and found an apple tree. We all loaded our pockets, shirts and anything we could find. We were thinking apple pie. When we got home with them, we got in trouble. Then Mom calmly baked the apple pie. A few hours later she took us and the pie in the car back to the owners. She made us take the pie up to them and apologize for stealing their apples. We never did that again.
For some reason none of us are crazy about apple pie.

OMG, that was SO funny. I wish I had thought to ebay the things my daughters put in my cart. But, I suspect I would not have been the comic in the telling. So, my ebay would not have worked out as well as hers. Thanks S PEAS ... ~BS

For any of you interested in old advertising printers blocks, I've got two listed on Ebay right now. I got frustrated trying to stamp them (they're a metal stamp mounted on wood) although someone on here said you have better luck if you put a thin sheet of foam underneath them when stamping. I haven't tried that yet, just decided not to bother with them. They're very nice for anyone who collects them or wants to get into antique stamping.

My user ID is c-girl on there. You can search under me as a seller.

I just saw this eBayer group and thought I would post something. Has anyone noticed that sometimes the shipping prices do not go along with the current USPS rates? I tried mailing something and shipping over $3.00 it was a heavy item so I had to ship it a certain way. But the darn thing would not let me post anything above $3.00. I have been an eBay member since I was 18 yrs old. I love it, when you can't find something usually eBay has it!

There are certain items that they regulate the shipping in order to prevent shipping gouging, such as books. Most books have a shipping limit of $4.00. This is usually enough since these can be shipped using media mail.
Not always though. I try to ship accurate, buyers appreciate this, it feels honest to them.
I have been eBaying for many years. The newer shipping programs are awesome!
not perfect, but I am amazed at how easy they made it over the years.
Automatic shipping information shared with all parties, including tracking #'s. You use to have to load all the information into the shipping page, that was before windows was as easy to use. Man, I feel like a dinosaur.
Good luck.
If you screw up, apologize and fix it. This will keep your feedback great!

If you don't think they get a cut of the shipping cost, then your not looking at your account page close enough.
