Zinni is sitting right here in my living room, getting ready to go out boxing after Thanksgiving lunch. She says "Hi!" and she hopes you are doing well.

Planting them was so much fun. Eastern Oklahoma was beautiful! I wish I had brought even more for that area. I think a return trip is in order.

Let me know when you find them. <3

Was wondering if anyone would be interested in putting together an event with me? I’d be happy to host, but have never done one before. Was checking out the event page and most of them seem to be closer to the coasts. Let me know if you’d be down! 😍

Depending on what part of Oklahoma, we might be able to come. It just might be a little much for us to help out. We enjoy events. :)

I've had events before and am willing to help from a distance (getting carves / boxes ready if you decide on a theme). I'm in Oklahoma often and would LOVE to take part.

I am here in Oklahoma and would love to help with an event. I have been boxing with my family for years and recently started my own account. Please AQ message me any way I can help. It will be cool to connect with some okie boxers.

I'm trying to think on themes now. I'm thinking maybe early fall and something a little bit west of Tulsa so more of the state can be involved (I'm in Tulsa). I'm happy to have as many help as possible. I feel like we have a bit of a desert on boxes in this state, and I'd love to change that! Thanks so much for reaching out :)

We'd be interested depending on the when and where. I've been out of boxing for about 10 years and just ran across my supplies and logbooks again.
We letterboxed quite a bit when my kids were young (323 finds and about 30 boxes placed). But life got busy. I'm a school teacher and hoping to hunt a bit this summer.

Hey everyone! My boxing has slowed tremendously over the last decade due to illness, but I'm feeling reinvigorated as of late. I've placed lots of hitchhikers, 1 traditional in Midwest City, 3 boxes out at Thunderbird, and hopefully more to come. Hope to see you on the trail!

Welcome back. I know the feeling. I mostly quit because of growing children and the chaos of life.
Mom (GoodOleDays) and I got back into it last summer. We haven't done much with surgeries and health (them) since them. But we'll keep an eye out for your boxes.

Many of you have found boxes placed by mother Sandy of the Good Ole Days. She (We) have been letterboxing off and on since 2004 - when the famous Family Fun magazine article got us hooked.

I wanted to let you know that she passed away last fall after open-heart surgery. It wasn't expected and we're still reeling all these months later.

I was searching through her things and found 2 letterboxing series that she had created just waiting for a chance to hide.

One is commemorating the Chisholm Trail. It has 16 boxes in it. She hid a few and we've hidden a few.
The other is to honor all the Native American tribes with land in Oklahoma. This has over 30 boxes.

It may take us the rest of our lives but we plan to hide these all in her honor. So, keep your eyes open for a little piece of her to keep popping up.

(By the way - she had even made the first finder shrinky dinks she's famous for.)

I'm very sorry to hear of this. I found a couple of their boxes a zillion years ago. Looked them up in my log book to appreciate their art. By all means, you should plant those series in her memory; they are both worthy subjects! I hope you continue to heal; maybe the box planting will help.

I'm so sorry to hear this too. When I was finding her boxes back in 2005/6 using Letterboxing.org, she is the one that told me about Atlasquest. When I left OKC, I left her a (store-bought) stamp of Oklahoma at the visitors center and sent her a message it was for her. Wasn't sure if she ever got it. But, I appreciated finding all her boxes back then and even found a few more when I drove through OKC area last November.

And I got one of those shrinky dinks. I left the rest for the 2nd, and 3rd finders, etc. Back in those days I was always the first to find. :)

Thanks for sharing the story. She honestly loved the planting more than the finding. She rarely carved stamps. She just liked adding memories for others.
She made really cool bags though.

Yes, I agree the bags were very good and she kept me well stocked on boxes to find. I have another story about her. One time I found a hitchhiker in one of her letterboxes. I sent her a concerned message that there was something strange in her letterbox. I didn’t have a clue what it was at the time. She asked me if I picked it up and I said no I didn’t touch it. Anyway that’s a funny memory for me from when I was so new and letterboxing. In my mind I imagine she went and picked it up and moved it onto another box.
