Drinking up is more like it and more fun than running. CHEERS to you.
Mary Nichols August 31, 1888 Jack The Ripper's First Victim

Entry date August 1891

While I am grateful that Myron is sending his best letterboxing detectives, I cringe and continue to drink a bit more heavily than a man of my age should.

Today is August 31st. 3 years ago, the bloody path I would soon lose myself into began on this day with Mary Nichols. Mary, Mary, Mary. August 31st, 1888. How could I forget? How could anyone forget. Her body. That unholy night. All that red, red, red blood. Augh.

We concluded four more would follow, but I know that there were definitely others. Others we could not save and other's who's unnecessary deaths plague me like a disease with no known cure.

It is just a few short weeks now before Myron's best arrives. Travel takes it's time but murderers do not. They wait for nothing.

But the truth is, I hate myself more for waiting than I ever did. Why am I not brave enough? I look in the mirror and the old man looking back is ashamed and I drink even more because of it.

October 17th.
Please hurry.

Are you brave enough to solve this Jack the Ripper mystery?

Awesome! Thank you for the reply. Hopefully this is not very far from where you are.

Here is a Google Map link to the area: https://www.google.com/maps/place/36%C2%B012'58.1%22N+115%C2%B015'29.1%22W/@36.2160197,-115.2579756,55m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m14!1m7!3m6!1s0x80c8ea7c4c48ea5d:0xb845ab70d85c478b!2sW+Cheyenne+Ave,+Las+Vegas,+NV!3b1!8m2!3d36.2175239!4d-115.2340375!3m5!1s0x0:0x0!7e2!8m2!3d36.2161242!4d-115.2580912

I can't include a picture so I will try and describe it. It is down the pathway t the right of the pin (I hope you see the pin). It is behind one of the rocks to your right as you walk down the path, but before you get to the switchback. I have pictures that show the specific rock.

We were boxing in the greater Las Vegas area on 20 June of this year, mostly in the Red Rock Canyon area. We had six stamps in our logbook that we failed to log and identify and just realized it today. We have figured one out, but still have five that we just don't know what they are, where we found them, etc. If we described them (or sent you a photo), is there anyone out there who could help us?

We boxed in that area around January 21+, 2018, if you want to look at our logbook finds. If any of those box names or clues seem familiar, you can message us for further clarification.

Good Luck!

I haven’t boxed in a while but if they’re older I might recognize them. I’ll send you my email address.

I found a handful of boxes in the area back in 2011. I don’t know if those would have survived this long, but if you send me an AQ mail describing the stamps, I’ll look at mine and see if we can match anything up.

As the heat wave emptied the streets of the city, crime was at all time unusual low.

Despite this, life in the office was incredibly tense. Not only were the air conditioners broken, but with the rolling blackouts, you had to make a choice: lights or fans.

I had not heard from “the killer” in a while.

However, I did receive a post card with the movie poster of “Psycho” on it. I checked the lovely Captain’s movie list and interestingly enough, it wasn’t a movie that she reviewed.

But the killer wouldn't waste their time sending me a red herring, especially when they already had a game in play.

Based on my understanding of the killer and the postcard, I figured it was best to add it to the list of films I should be familiar with. Not only could not hurt but I wasn’t taking any chances. The Senior Detective didn’t make it, especially after his wife found about the mistress, plus the waitress, plus the trainee, plus . . . well, you get my point.

In short, his position was now available. Though, not getting anywhere on the case wasn’t doing me any favors.

Also, after reading that Notorious was the lovely critics favorite Hitchcock movie, I added that too to my list.

Iconic scenes.
Iconic props.
Iconic hotties Grant and Bergman.

Duly noted!

I have detective gut feeling familiarizing myself with these 3 iconic entities for Hitchcock's movies would be highly to be beneficial!

September 30th was a little less than 60 days away. The Letterboxers were on their way. There was a dim light at the end of this murderous tunnel, I could feel it.

But I also had a sneaky suspicion that I needed to keep my eyes open. Be keen! Be aware!

This hot cat knew murder and undoubtedly played this game before . . . In detective terms, clues could be anywhere and probably were, and I, the sorry SOB that I am, am just not seeing them . . . not stringing them together . . .

Plus, it did help that this was my first Killer Mental Match . . . Honestly, between us, in my dark moments, I fear I am no match and this killing cat has already won!

In fact, there have been rumors of me being assigned a new partner, now that my old one already made his trip over the Rainbow Bridge.

Those words. . . those haunting words, “one clue will lead to the next clue, which will lead to the next clue . . .” I wake up sweating at all hours of the night repeating them out loud.

I even drink now. My love now looks at me with deep concern.

I wonder if Hitchcock can see me now?

Is he laughing?

Cuz this entire scenario would make an amazing Hitchcock movie:

A murdered movie director.
A stump cop turns to drinking.
A clever killer, lurking the shadows, laughing.
Clues everywhere.

But can our hero string them together?

Enter the LETTERBOXERS!

Mystery At Museum Event X~post

When Larry Daley heard the American Museum of Natural History in New York was sending it’s Egyptian exhibit along with the British Tate Museum’s of their Cleopatra Exhibit West to Vacaville California, he immediately begged his bosses to reconsider. Having learned the secret of the Tablet of Akhmenrah seventeen years ago, and being it sole Guardian of its secrets since, Larry feared disaster was abound for the exhibit.

And on a cold, dark Autumn's night, during a ferocious storm, Larry’s greatest fears came true! Plastered all over the news that the very Vacaville Museum hosting both exhibits was pilfered by unknown thieves. Worst yet, gone was the Tablet of Akhmenrah!

The thieves, believing themselves to exceptionally clever and beyond cunning, thought it would be fun to taunt the police and FBI with clues as to who they were and more importantly the whereabouts of their now stolen loot!

Catching the very next flight out West, Larry had a chance to briefly glance at the clues left behind. Immediately, he knew that in order to decipher the clues, puzzles and codes, he was indeed going to need help! And there was only group of people Larry trusted the most with helping him solve the mystery of the thieves and the whereabouts of the valuable tablet . . . Letterboxers!

But can these intrepid boxers solve the case? Are they familiar with the world’s most famous pieces of art? Would they know a forgery or false clue when they see it???? So Dark the Con Man . . . or is it really just the Madonna On the Rocks . . . Tsk, tsk, it was just Larry’s guess at this point.

In the meantime, the FBI is keeping a tight lid on this mystery that is for sure!

So, can you and your team of 4 experts answer the call? Can you help solve the mystery and help recover the Tablet of Akhmenrah?????

Come October, we shall see . . . we shall see!
