Restored Skaneateles Box

The box hidden for years at the Skaneateles Conservation Area was in extremely bad shape so I took it home and repackaged it. I don't think the owner is active anymore (too bad!). Took me a while to get it back but it's there now! If you haven't found it yet, perhaps it's because it doesn't seem to come up when you do a geographic search even though it's listed as being in Skan. Anyway, here is the link:

I did a 'simple search' and it came up.

"Skaneateles - 15 miles"

It should come up in other town searches depending on how many miles they do.

Weird! I have never been able to get it to appear and I regularly do Simple Search, Skaneateles, 15 miles. Just did it now and it did not appear. I only knew it existed via WOM and had to type “Skaneateles” into the box name line to find it. The search reported boxes in Syracuse, Spafford, Auburn, etc, so it should have picked it up.

It came up for me also. Are you sure you don't have the Box blocked or have some other restrictions set on your searches?

I think Janila is right. It has something to do with your settings, either in searching or boxes in general? But I have no idea what it would be. Maybe go through your settings and see what you have.

Filter thresholds maybe? But honestly I don't know.

It's had a lot of finders so I can't see it being some kind of restriction set by the planter. Though one never knows.

If you really want to find out and can't, maybe ask Ryan. He might be able to see something you can't.

But it's good of you to rescue it!
