the longest surviving mesh bags have been made of olive green nylon mosquito mesh (heavier stuff, more like tent screen)
Sew around three sides to make a bag
Fold down the top edge of the opening to make a casing for a drawstring
Thread a nylon cord through the top casing
Voila'!

I bought a large quantity at Hancock Fabrics several years ago, but I can't recall exactly the type of fabric. I cut a simple rectangle to fit my LnL, and sewed up the sides, and folded the top for a corded drawstring. I used a thingamagig to pull the drawstring closed. One bag is holding up well (outdoors, and a bit sheltered), one is not (under brush near base of tree). The camo pattern blends in really well here.

I am creating a hanging plant for the box I adopted this summer. I like the suet idea. Is the stamp and logbook in a plastic bag or in something else within the suet?
I crocheted a loose mesh bag to hang it, but the weather rot post has me rethinking whether I should use it.
Thanks,

Somehow, when I saw the title of this thread, I envisioned a fern in a hanging pot...

A snapware product inside the suet hanger.

We used a duct taped bag/pouch and stuffed it into the suet holder.
