I was a Spanish teacher for 19 years, so many of the words that I like just because of how they sound are Spanish - like aguacate (ah- gua - cah - tay) which means avocado and vergüenza (vair - gwen - sa) which means shame and cacahuete (ca - ca - hoo - eh - tay) which means peanut. There's your Spanish lesson for the day, everyone! ;)

On another message board I frequent a member uses the name GatoPescado. I’ve looked at it for years but only recently got it.

Today? Philtrum. For nose good reason. My dad calls it a "snot trough," which is also excellent.

You don't want to know my favorite English word, because it's not nice. But my favorite Spanish words are miercoles (me-air-co-lays) which is Wednesday; and biblioteca (bib-Lee-oh-take-uh) who c h is library.

Ginormous. I thought my daughter made this word up years ago, but I see it in the online dictionary.

we used to make up words when I was a kid.
still use the following two occasionally:
schwazniffle : the process of entering a room
schnizwaffle: the process of leaving a room

I've been using 'inane' and 'imbecile' a lot lately.

I was just going to post "inane" and saw your comment! I also thought my son invented "ginormous". We use it all the time because it annoys my daughter.

Today my favorite word is "tickety-boo."
