Cameras clicking as a beautiful, short letterboxer sporting a bicorn hat enters the rooms. The room erupts into shouting voices.

Reporters: Captain Slick Kitty! Captain! Captain Slick Kitty

CSK steps up to the podium. Smiling, she takes a quick drink of water. CSK: Good Morning, Nevada

Reporters laugh. CSK points to the first reporter she sees, she nods her head.

Reporter: Captain Slick Kitty, it's been 3 years since your last event. How do you feel?

A tight but sincere smile blooms on the Captain's face. CSK: Nervous. Extrememly nervous. Lots of moving parts and since we have never done this type of event, extremely nervous.

The room erupts into laughter. Then pointing to a reporter in the back, CSK nods her head.

Reporter: Capt'n! Murder in Sleep Hollow is an escape room event. Can you please elaborate more on that?

Stepping up to the mic, CSK: Sleepy Hollow is a two in one event. It's a competition and a non-competition. It will be a standard letterboxing event for those who wish to simply letterbox and an escape room, in addition to simply letterboxing, for those who wish to compete. It's completely up to those who sign up if they wish to compete. But I highly recommend competing. It will be fun, memorable, and definitely be worth it. We asked for people to sign up as a team of two. Working together as quickly and quietly as possible, they have to unravel the true mystery surrounding the murders of Sleepy Hollow. They will be given an amounted time to "escape". Failure to do so will result in their death. First team to escape with the correct solution, wins.

Suddenly the reporters call out CSK. Pointing, CSK indicated the reporter in the middle.

Reporter: Yes, um, is there anything special that these teams need to do? To compete, I mean?

Nodding, CSK: Yes. If a team wants to compete, they absolutely need to contact us via AQ by between now and August 1stto let us know that they are definitely competing. This is a must. Space is limited, so sign up ASAP! Even if you have told us you are competing, do it again! I can not stress this. Also, if you wish to compete but do not have a partner, please contact us. It's fine if you are your own team but if want us to help you find a partner, we can ask the other single sign ups. Teams also need to bring their own writing utensils. Pad of paper, pens, pencils-whatever works for them. As it's set in 1790, there will be no cell phone use, not that it would help them anyways. I strongly recommend reading everything that has already been provided. While there are NO clues or hints, it does better prepare you for what's in the room.

Continuing CSK: And we do encourage team solidarity. We love seeing matching T-shirts or costumes-festive stuff like that. But it's not required. Also- be advised we will have a Photo Booth for all of the attendees. Yes-a photo booth.

Reporters begin to shout out again. Pointing to a reporter in the front, CSK nods.

Reporter: Okay, escape room, competing teams needs sign up by August 1st. Are there any changes or anything of great significance the event goers need to be aware of.

Smiling CSK: Good question. Thanks for asking. There is a fee change. For the ones who are simply letterboxing, we are asking $5 dollars a person. A awesome event book and clues will be provided to you. For the teams, we are asking $15 per team. Those who compete get a second event logbook and will have get extra stamps associated with the escape room, even if they die in the room. Non-competitors will not have access to the escape room stamps. But your $15 covers all of the letterboxing event, so you will get access to all stamps and both logbooks.

Continuing CSK: Competitors absolutely need to check their AQ mails for any subsequent emails. We will be sending their escape room start time and other vital information to them before the event.

A tall reporter from back shouted: Got any tips or suggestions for the competing teams or participants in general? Should they watch the movie?

Giggling CSK: You mean the "moving play, with an actor named "Johnny" and who lacks depths"?

The room erupts into laughter.

CSK: While it is not necessary, it's still a great movie. It's a fun, family night movie. It will get you in the mood. Obviously we are using this version and not Irving's original version where Ichabod Crane is a school teacher. For good Halloween fun, the book is a wonderful read too.
Continuing CSK: We recommend teams work together as quietly as possible. You don't want to give away a solution that another team can overhear. Also, be prepared to think outside the box to solve what you need to solve. Consider every potential solution for the task before you.

Again from the tall man: What about bribes?

Chuckling, CSK tilts her head. CSK: There will be no need for bribes. Each team will be given the opportunity before they enter the escape room to buy 3 hints for $3. Not after.

Waving her hands, CSK: Thank you for coming. AQ mail me or funny if you have further questions. That is all.

CSK exits stage left to the sounds of cameras clicking.
