Just a random thought from a brain that has been wiped out from work, but have you tried hairspray and then the transfer?

I imagine that whatever brand you can find at the Dollar Tree would be perfect for this. :)

Kirbert,

Send me a link to the color you prefer to carve and I will order some to try the acetone transfer.

How soft a material is it? Like pink? Or orange pz? Depending on the hardness, is it possible to iron the image to transfer it? Orange and older pink were hard enough to iron on toner printed images. The newer pink melts if I try that method, so switched to acetone to transfer the toner.

I really liked ironing the image over using acetone. The acetone image can smudge if I am not careful, whereas, the ironed image does not smudge at all.

I'd probably pick the clear yellow one of these:

Hasten to point out, though, that I'm not fully positive this is the same stuff. The stuff I'm carving comes in a package of a dozen individually wrapped 2x2 squares, all different colors.

Harder than pink, a hair softer than orange PZ Kut.

Ironing doesn't work with inkjet printers, so I have no idea.
