Well had knee surgery in late February. Been in PT for about 2 months, but finished with that last week. Overall knees are better and I'm back at work on my feet the whole time. I work part-time in a coffee/sandwich shop. Most weeks I work 15-25 hours.
I've been doing a lot of carving lately. I find that it relaxes me. I've been in a couple of inches swap this year.
As far as actually letterboxing...I've done very little this year. Would like to do more, but life is a bit busy these days. I rather sit at home with family and carve than to be away from everyone.
Hope everyone has an safe and awesome summer!!

Well, I'm not in NC, but I've been busy with graduation party planning and de-cluttering my home for the 30+ guests coming over.

Next week, it will be back to normal, and then we will be carving, planting, and looking for boxes again.

I had a lull where all I did was some LTC stuff, mostly because I was working 6 days a week for a while.

I made it to the BrockBrood/Honey Pot Mini Meet and got to box a tad. I missed PAL day mostly due to work followed by severe storms in the area that afternoon but I still planted 4 boxes this past weekend to make up for it. Now we're preparing for a trip to Baltimore and I've been arranging clues for the trip as well as for around town.... Also checked my local hitchhiker hostel, swapped out all the hitchhikers to get them traveling with me, and have prepared 3 boxes to possibly plant somewhere between here and there. Pugs wants me to prep more than that but I don't think that is going to happen considering I haven't even packed anything other than camo boxes for this trip!

Also, my road trip project will be preparing bags for Super Hedge Hoggie to use in the Disney event....my pre-trip errands yesterday were to get extra dog food and biscuits so the dog sitter has plenty to divvy out, more baggies, and multiple rolls of duct tape :)

I went to the Wet, Wet, and Wild, but mostly Wet West Va event. There was one series that was planted for the event that was a ONE hour drive from the event, hiked for 3 hours in on and off rain, rubbed a blister on my foot that I am now nursing.

Back home and enjoying life with my family. Hope to log my WV finds today.

I'm also into the "Roxboro Rocks " hide and seek fun.

Oceanwinds do you know of an easy spot to drive up to Flat river where I could gather some rocks?

No, we will be somewhere in WV Friday night. We are leaving after we get off work that Friday, so we will drive about 5 hours. That leaves about 4 hours to drive to the event Saturday morning!

Haha - me too!! And with the 30++ guests. On top of decluttering, we added in a new kitchen floor and painting! Graduation not until June 10th but after that I'll refocus on letterboxing out the wild, rather than through the mail!

Well, there was an event up here in Michigan over the weekend. I attended that for a good portion of the day on Saturday. I saw many letterboxers I met over the years.

After the event, I went up north (northern part of the lower peninsula) as I usually do for Memorial Day weekends. The cousin who introduced me to letterboxing has a house up there with a room for me. We're close like sisters.

On the way up there, I detoured to see another letterboxing friend and her family. She was the first and only person I exchanged with at the first event I attended. She was the only person to request an exchange. Back then, I had no idea what the heck I was doing or if another event would be in my future (even though it was rather fun).

My cousin, her husband, and I found a letterbox on Sunday and followed it with a trip to the drive-in to see a double feature of Pirates of the Caribbean and Guardians of the Galaxy 2. Monday was spent at a parade. Then we went to eat at one of our favorite places up there. She picked up her son from his dad's and then her, her brother, and I were teaching her son how to play the hide-and-seek type games we used to play as children. Actually, one, Sardines, was new to me, and I liked it better because there was less running. At one point, I was hiding in the bushes like I was a letterbox. =P

I returned on Wednesday because I had an interview in another part of the state. It was easier just to go from up there to the interview. I found a box and attempted another. While there, I found a Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. It made me think of and miss NC. NC is never too far from my mind. Miss you all!

We better have lunch before you tackle snake territory back there. I collected a few and ran across 2 snakes. It will be a while before I head over there again. I have been looking in the neighborhood amd in our outdoor learning environment when I can get outside to walk.

I have not been boxing lately & the woods are calling! I hope to Lbx a little in CT next week while I'm there to get me in the swing on things.

Back in January, Exp 626 & I took a road trip to Knoxville TN. The must have for that trip was *Psycho* It RAINED like crazy that trip, but that didn't stop us for peppering the town with HH'ers!
In March, I visited my goddaughter in Jacksonville, FL. I scooped up her three children & went looking for *Home of the Blue Angels* and the kids LOVED Lbxing so much, now they each have journals ;) I must say, I love getting photos on FB on her babes in the woods hunting for stamps.
In April, Exp626 & I took her little girl for a weekend of Lbxing in Durham at West Point on the Eno Park. We walked 5 1/2 miles in one day & her daughter TALKED for 5 1/2 miles that day!
I have been to Lake Norman State Park three times since May & only found 1 of the five boxes there! That's when I realized I lost my boxing groove.

As for carves, I sent my Joker *Why So Serious* stamp to Warrior Woman's "Jokers and Jesters Egg Hunt" for April Fool's Day. From the comments, many folks enjoyed it. I have come along way from *J Runs on D*
My *Farfalla* should be at summer camp in Naples NC this summer which reminds me I need to pack a set of night boxes for my daughter's camp next week. I carved a stamp for Plant a Beer Day & have one stamp on the table for a board game store to be carved along with other doodles.

I have four stamps that need to get planted. One is a redo that had gone missing. I love the location, but I fear I'll lose this one there too. Another should go inside at a coffee house & live its life as a HHH, but I haven't found one where I can plant it. I have a bonus box that needs to get out on the trail... it's three feet away from me as I type! The main box is out there & I feel I should send the finders that have been there a personal LTC! Lastly, I sheepishly have an AMAZING carve Mama Wolf made me (a year ago) that needs a wonderful home where it will never get lost/stolen/eaten/or any other natural disaster imagined. She made me promise that it would be planted & not a traveler. (Dangit!)

I can't even remember what it is now! But ALL of the stamps I give are for planting. And if it gets lost, that's okay.

I have a box I planted in TN for my finally Treasure Hiker points, and another I planted in NC that I've never gotten around to listing. That was about a year ago now! But they are both on pretty good hikes so it's unlikely they are going to get found anyway. I still have 7 unfound boxes on similar type hikes. But I don't do much finding now myself.

I just went on an amazing trip to visit my sister and brother-in-law in Colorado. My husband let me turn it into a letterboxing extravaganza! We stopped at an event in Ohio that was along the way. I added 8 states to my find list, 2 to my plant list, AND hit 4000 boxes found! I have now found boxes in 41 states. And plan to add Hawaii next year!

While we were there, we also hiked in Rocky Mountain National Park, something that I couldn't do last year when we were there. But, as some of you know, I had my lapband removed due to extreme complications and had the gastric sleeve. With that tool and all of my time in the gym, I am down 60 pounds and still losing. The altitude only affected me a little and I was able to enjoy the beauty of the park so much more this trip! I'm currently training for a mini triathlon.

I also (finally) got my sister hooked on boxing. We had a blast and found some beautiful spots in the mountains while I was there.

Now, I'm looking forward to a girls weekend and the Disney event. Woohoo!

You are doing so good Amy, I am so proud of you. I'm also jealous that you have found boxes in so many states. Lol
I'm hoping to hit a milestone on our weekend trip, but if I don't you know it's OK, we will have fun no matter what.

I just got back from a 2.5 week endeavor in California and Arizona, going to weddings and catching up with family. I was lucky enough to find a box here and there in Cali (OMG, if you're in Fort Bragg then you have to get Gram's Jam and some jam from the shop because it is A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. - just don't forget to pack it correctly or else the guys with the TSA will take it from you, like they took mine) but went on some fun adventures with AZJokester to Colossal Cave in Vail, AZ and in and around Tucson. PSA, make sure you ALWAYS wear sunscreen whilst boxing in the desert because if you don't you'll get burned alive and then have to be a bridesmaid in your friend's wedding wearing a sleeveless dress while looking like a lobster.

My husband and I have about a week left here in Florida before we move to Denver and so we'll go boxing in Havana, Tallahassee, and maybe Bainbridge before we go. After we make our move I'll head out to an event with my mom, Gypsy Fiddler, in August followed by a quick trip to Raleigh in September for the Disney event. It's going to be a magical time. :)
