Odd or unusual finds

Now that 2016 is coming to a close I was wondering what was the most unusual object found this year while out letter boxing. Ours would have to be a handgun found on the edge of a city lake. The gun had been torch cut in half. The local police checked the serial number. It was cut the same way they do but tit didn't come up in the database.

Mine wasn't odd or unusual. ...but a reminder to be careful when boxing in the desert. I was going for a box called Desert Stinger and when I moved the rock covering the box...there was an actual, real life, desert stinger (scorpion ) standing on the box. Got a great picture of it too.

Nothing that unusual but we did go after a box, found what we thought was it only to be.......I'll be polite here.....chided by the box's owner that the box had been pulled by another boxer because the people in the building right next to it had caught that boxer red handed......the chiding included being call a liar.......

Now we found "our" box in the exact location described by the clue.....it was in a juniper bush and in that same bush was a sleeping bag, some clothes and drug paraphernalia.....as in needles, etc.......

Couldn't find it listed on AQ or LbNA so we obviously dropped the one we hadn't found......

I bet they felt like real boobs. That will teach them to keep abreast of their cutting procedures.

Unfortunately, except for the specifics of the saddle bag, that's neither odd nor unusual.

Hmmmmm......a mailbox on top of a post in the middle of the woods, a knife stuck in a tree, what looked like an old car from the 30s that looked like it had almost become part of the ground around it, hardened fungus with a face carved into it....must be more but I can't think of any at the moment.

yeah I thought the saddle bag a bit pricey for the usual McTrinkets you find.

Not all this year, but a nude Barbie doll nailed to a tree, a closed but unlocked security box just the right size for a human head, a prostitute, a metal road sign and post (standing) with a silhouette of a monster that looked like a cross between Alien and Bigfoot, a woman walking on a dirt road wearing only a short t-shirt, two artistically intertwined deer skeletons, a shot-up 1940s car in the middle of the woods, need I go on?

I'm sure I've forgotten quite a few more. Maybe some of the other Southeast Michigan boxers out there can jog my memory.

Southpaw saw a Canada lynx's butt while we were letterboxing on the Quebec/NH border. I was fiddling with my camera and missed it, though.

TomCat found a jawbone in a tree while we were trying to find a letterbox during our road trip.

Was the doll at the Girl Scout camp we went to on Halloween? I remember there were parts of one in one of the boxes.

No, it was in a park along the River Rouge in Canton off US-12.

a woman walking on a dirt road wearing only a short t-shirt,

made me smirk and remember:
the day before the 2010 Great Lakes Gathering when a geocacher passed me on the trail and said, "sorry." When I turned around to see what he could possibly be talking about, I deduced that he must have slid down one of those slippery, hills at Jubilee SP and that's how all of the clothing from his backside was missing
