Thanks for letting us know, Papa.

Yes, thanks Papa. Trail Troll has been on my mind since learning about it this morning. Considering all of the other health issues she has pulled through, she has a good chance of getting through this, too.

Lunagirl and I along with Anakin and Jake drove down to Pontiac to see how Kristin was doing. Lori told us they were keeping her in a medically induced coma as well as keeping her in a low temperature state to keep the swelling in her brain down. The doctors were supposed to raise her temperature at 4am and that would give them a better idea how she was doing. Will let you know when I hear from Lori. She thanks everyone for their concerns and kind wishes.

"No update on my sister which in a way is good news. They've started warming her up but it's a long, slow process. Still no idea of brain function but feeling positive!" ~Lori

11:29 from Nurse Cindy - they have started warming her and things are going okay. They have had some trouble controlling the warming but going slow has helped. Cindy says "she's stubborn" and I told her she has no idea just how stubborn. They're busy with her for the next few hours and she suggested we wait at home and call for an update at 14:00.

How frightening...mostly because on trails Chris and I have both fallen on trails and me even at the pool locker room where I work out! My friend recently fell going up her porch steps and blacked her eye..at age 67.

Prayers wherever she fell Papa.

From Kristin's sister: Some good news today. They took my sister off the ventilator for 2 hours AND she responded to a command! Wiggled her toes. Baby steps but they're in the right direction!

From Lori,

Not good day with Kristin. My sister. She did not respond yesterday. They were overly optimistic. And the doc said they were wrong. Didn't respond today. She should be at this point. I beg for positives thoughts and prayers for her. Many of you know I live with her and she is my world. She's had a great deal of medical issues. No thyroid, left ear hearing, no gall bladder or adrenal glands. And more. But I've always taken care of her. But now I need help. Pray. Make her wake up.

I went to see Kristen yesterday on the way to see some letterboxers at the Great American Backyard Campout. The doctors had her sedated at the time, as they had just given her a cat scan and all that activity apparently was distressing for her. Lori and her mother said she had been aware of her surroundings if not necessarily responding as much as they would like, but still wiggling her toes and things like that. She did respond quite dramatically however when Lori playfully and sisterly called her a "stupid poopy head". Her eyes flew open when she heard that. :) We're thinking of you, Kristin. <3

From Lori: Very good day for my sister! She is now interacting with head movements. Brother Greg asked her if she wanted him to sing for her and she got a grin on her face and shook her head vigorously side to side. Ventilator tube and feeding tube come out of her mouth tomorrow. Tracheotomy tube and feeding tube go in directly tomorrow. Frees up her vocal chords. She seems to want to talk. She's in there!! But please keep up your thoughts and prayers❤️👍

I received an email yesterday from Trailtroll's sister, Lori, about TT's current condition, but when I got home and attempted to post it, I couldn't find it on my pc, so I'm going from memory here (ha!). The hospital is moving Kristin to ICU, down from critical care, so that's good news, and they are removing some of her tubes, so that's more baby steps in the right direction. I asked Lori to resend me her email, and if she does, or if I find the original, or get more info, I'll be sure to pass it along. Lori sends a sincere thank you to everyone who sends their positive thoughts, vibes, and prayers. Things are getting better. :)
