After another not-find today, with a box in its proper place with log but no stamp

I once found a box that had some trinkets in it, including a small sympathy card the size of a business card. I've been carrying it around ever since for the next time I find a box with no stamp.

You need to try your built-in supply of warm liquid.

Hi, Patriot Rider & l are planning a couple of days letterboxing in New Orleans. What is the Box Title & number. We will certainly want to search, but there is no info listed.

Just scroll through Rocklun's logbook until you see the box that's never been found that's planted in LA.

Or alternatively go to Advanced Search, put LA in for Location, and Rocklun in for Planter.

Just found a box today with no stamp but other trinkets. Was very disappointed and since landmark clues had deteriorated and box was found exposed it took it home and sent a note to owner I had the box and surviving logbook. THEN I read this box has had its stamp missing for at least 4years!! Wtf? Why then did I ever bother to look for it? Grrrr!

I've had several examples lately of very significant problems with boxes where I emailed the planter and never heard back. And then I feel bad for the future finders. I almost wish there was a way to red flag the box until the planter bothers to look at the issue and address it. In some cases the planter did not allow public comments, or did not publish my comments but also didn't update the clues and I have no way of knowing whether they just didn't see the email or what. I'm not talking nitpicky stuff. In two cases I recently did an emergency relocation of the box, and the clues were not updated to reflect the move. One was due to every tree in the area being marked with an "X" to be cut by loggers. Another was planted under a log that had completely dissolved and box was just sitting on top of a small logduff pile out in the open. Another box I removed because the stamp had crumbled into nothing, but my comments were not approved by the planter, so no one knows that.

Sometimes we post stuff like this to the Yahoo group. You could do that here to the state board. Not much, but better than nothing.
