The boxes at the big plantations. To me, the plantations are worth it.
Check for the mystery boxes.
The Hunley was good, but not sure it it is still there or accessible.
I honestly did not find many boxes in Charleston, because it is such a nice place to visit, I would rather see the sights than rubber stamps. So I found boxes in places I was going to. The aircraft carrier was really awesome, too.

The Hunley is retired due to construction destroying the hide and box. Thank you for the kind words FloridaFour.

You're welcome. The private tour we sucked the guard into giving us on a closed day of the museum, while the Seabees were working on the sub, was a trip highlight!

When we go to Charleston we stay in Mt. Pleasant. Many great places to eat. It is a quick trip across the bridge to downtown. There are boxes in that area as well. Most boxes in Charleston are left by people on vacation.

My parents and I (plus DH) will also be going to Charleston for spring break. I intend to hunt for one mystery box I located using Google Maps awhile back (as I've never found a mystery box, ever) and the second box (Queen Anne's Revenge) from the 2-box series by Runs With Beer.
I might carve one or two boxes myself and find a place to put them; DH and I spent our honeymoon in Charleston four years ago this July and this is our first time back since.
I think we're arriving 3/30 and staying in Charleston, or just outside.

I planted some years ago and all went missing. They don't last long downtown unfortunately.

I'm so sorry to see Nutcracker and Nut... Are unknown. Love the creativity and "doh" moment :)
