Too soft and crumbly, doesn't hold detail, doesn't hold up well in the outside environment or with many people stamping it. I didn't care for it. However it is good for kids to practice on or for less detailed stamps, like what you might use to decorate paper or mixed media projects, etc.

heck, why not just try it out? Some people like really hard carving stuff, some like softer stuff, you may discover a whole new aspect of your art with stuff that may crumble.

If you do come up with a carve out of it that you really like, I would recommend backing the stamp to lend it sturdy properties, and plant that bad boy! The reality is that many boxes have the life expectancy of a squirrel in the wild, that's what makes old boxes rather cool.
