Just the other day I didn't find the 'box but I did find two bottles of booze, and one was unopened. Last finder's prize?

I thought I'd finally shed the newbie title, but since I've never witnessed sexcapades in the woods...

sniff, sniff.

I'd gone up to get the box and come back. I noticed the back of the park sign had the typical, call me for a good time numbers. But one of the graffiti posts said what his name was, the dates and times he'd be in the park at that location and how much he liked panties. And the box location I'd just come from had panties on the ground beside th bench. Ugh! Totally freaked me out. I dont think I'll go back there alone again.

While boxing in a semi-urban area, we followed the clues from a road through a grassy area to some woods, and came upon a hidden campsite where some homeless peoiple had been living. There were sleeping bags, clothes, folding chairs, a cooking and eating area, etc. The box was in the trunk of a hollow tree right in the middle of the site! I felt like we were tresspassing in someone's home. Was very glad they weren't there at the time!

Oh, I forgot you take Henry and that he even logs in sometimes. Do you push an umbrella stroller for him too when he gets tired of walking but instead of him using it you carry him? ;)

Wiccan circle. Didn't realize what it was until I was standing in it. It was made of woven branches and had candles, shells and rocks placed along perimeter. I was actually very beautiful.

Yesterday entering a cemetery, looking for a box, there was a service going on with an open casket. Didn't want to disturb the family/friends, so we drove around looking for a landmark to the box. Deciding to come back later, we had to drive by the tent/casket again. To my surprise they were loading the casket in a pick up truck! What? Never seen that one before! They loaded it and took it to the actual grave site. You just never know what you are going to see! Thankfully, no naked people on my adventures. We left and came back later to stamp in the box.

Idlemoon - the pickle park - was that by any chance Indian Orchard Park in Media? When I went there with my daughter, 3-4 years ago, I pulled up in the parking lot loop behind a car that was running. I pulled up right behind it, assuming they were about to leave... but then realized there was no one in the driver's seat. I shut my car off, we gathered up our supplies... & then I saw the top of someone's head appear... they were in the backseat!! And here, dummy that I am, I had parked right behind them for a front row seat! LOL

Also, Ridley Creek State Park - one parking lot I parked in had a few guys sitting alone (I think!) in cars. I got a funny vibe, so I drove to another part of the park.

Once in my family's early hiking days, I took my twins on a hike in the Sheepfold area of the Fells, here in MA. I parked in the first lot I saw, and we hiked. Afterward, I opened the passenger side of the car, put the kids in, spent a few minutes buckling them & chatting & giving them snacks. Finally I closed the door & walked around to the driver's side, and got the shock of my life when I saw an overweight middle-aged man in a Speedo, in a fully reclined lounge chair, right next to my car!! I found out later that this is also a popular gay meet-up spot, and that most other people use a different parking area. Live and learn!!

Bee, I'll let it slide for you. Yesterday was your birthday. =P

Plus, I've played Cards Against Humanity with you and Pugs twice. One of those times with a bunch of letterboxers. Maybe that is corrupting our minds. =P

All right, now who wants to open my CAH deck and play a game?

I found a crackpipe above a door frame in an old fort in downtown Nashville.

Another time I was in a cemetery. I didn't read the clues right. I dropped my pen into a crumbling above ground grave. Stupid me can see the pen, so I reach my arm down into the hole. My entire arm is in there, my face flat and squashed against the stones...and...someone shook my hand!!!!! No I am just kidding. But!!! I was face to face a grey snake sunbathing. Inches. He matched the stones. He flickered his tongue at me. I ripped my arm out so quick, I got all scratched up. About six feet away I could see this thing was either hella long or he had friends bc there was grey snake body all in and out of the open spaces in the stones.

As SeerMeesh said, you really do not want to personally witness that in the woods because you do leave the area pretty quickly. I think the couple I saw wanted to be watched since they were in the middle of a trail and purposely made sure to walk by me when leaving. The place was so open that there are 50 other ways to leave those woods. That actually made me the most uncomfortable was that they felt that they had to walk by me.

Then digging deeper hoping to find the box, a cell phone wrapped in 3 baggies wrapped in a DC metro map.

Maybe this was a clue to one of those Eevil mystery boxes? ;-)

I've heard of those places. Since we have the first Openly Gay mayor here in Seattle, I belive you just have to be cognicent of the bar you go into, otherwise I have never had to park in certain lots to avoid that activity.

As for the Phone....Well I might think my A&E Detective vibe might say you stumbled into the Dark Side of the world. The side were people need to hide Items like that as part of their daily proffesion. I have only had a slight glimps of that world once from my days in the military. Even today all I'm comfortable to say is, My instructions that day were plain and clear, but one of the oddest things I ever did in the military.

Their was a weirdest day blog in the past and that was when I was mistaken for a flasher because the trailhead had a drescription for the average white guy which I fit to a tee. Only that I am 100pounds heavier than the description.

The weirdest thing I have seen while boxing. hmmm....well there was the time when a family of Geocachers and my Daughter & I were looking in the same area of the trail and we both (groups) were trying to not look suspisiose, only that we all probally started to look like a Benny Hill Skit of going back & forth on the trail waiting for the other group to continue on beacause the box and cashe ended up being near ontop of each other.

A couple of summers ago, during one of our rare 90 degree heatwaves, we went looking for a box near one of the secluded lakes in the Snohomish County backwoods. Now the box was old and the clues seamed obliterated, so we pressed on to the lake to eat our picnic lunch with us. We got to the lake and found a nice spot with a little beach to eat our lunch. There was a young couple frolicing around in the water, and just stopped when we came up. We sat and ate, while they pretty much just swam and waited for us to leave. It wasn't untill we packed up after our quick lunch that I noticed their clothes were folded up on a log to the side. Then it hit me they were skinny dipping and this weird guy and his 7 year old daughter were having lunch while they swam naked. Not that we knew that at the time. Once I saw the clothes i appologized to them, and we left. They decided to high tail out of there and passed us on the trail back down to the cars. They decided to go Comando, because the guy was carying their underwere, with his girlfriends bra half dangling out. Stasiaboo goes "Dad, he has her underwere, thats gross".

Okay, I was looking back at my pictures of the beaver in the tree, and now I'm starting to wonder if it might have been a woodchuck!! Are there any wildlife experts out there who might know? Body picture Face picture

I think that's a woodchuck. I checked with Google and found that beavers can't climb trees but woodchucks sometimes will to get away from predators. Plus a beavers tail is not fluffy.
