Yes, that's what reminded me of the other stuff. I'd like to make them into collectible "porcelain" dolls...

There was some stuff called Dip and Drape. It was sold in folded sheets and sort of like plaster cast. You got it wet and shaped it over a form. It was very shapeable and easy to work with. You then painted it after it dried well. Not sure if this helps. Good luck!

Where's the "AHHHHHHH!" button? Who would want those terrifying things in their house? The first time I saw an episode with them in it, it gave me the heebie-jeebies!

Yes! It's the petal porcelain!
Thanks. See, my google skills are getting better, but whenever I just can't find or remember something, I know someone at AQ can fill in the blanks for me.

Aaaaannnd, now that I know what it's called, and have discovered that it should be about $5/bottle, but is being sold for $25/bottle because it's discontinued, I have also discovered that it doesn't really do what I thought it did.
I thought it was a think paint that gave the texture and color of porcelain. What it actually is, is a stiffener, to be used on silk flowers, etc, which doesn't change the color of the fabric, so must then be painted white to make it look like porcelain. Hmmmph. Won't do for my project after all, so glad that I researched before purchasing it.
That said, anyone know of something I can spray or paint onto plastic that will give me the texture of porcelain?

true, but then I'd have to fire it, and the plastic doll underneath it will melt.
and I don't have a kiln.
