It made me realize I need to take a refresher course in triangulation

It was my idea to use triangulation for the clue. I thought the people at the gathering should get a taste (as sour as it may be) of a common "historic" method of writing clues... quite British you know. Its always been a pain to find locations with it. Sorry for the inconvenience ;-)

What!
Aggravating as heck - YES
Inconvenient - NO

Triangulation is as old as the hills and should be taught, and learned, by anybody serious about orienteering.

Just in the 7 years I have been involved in this wonderful hobby I have seen a real decline in the use of a compass as part of the Clues - it's a little sad really.
