Quote ....I finally figured out how to "quote" :)

I think that should be the official sign that you are no longer a "newbie". At least here on AQ.

I've always loved Medium and was disappointed when they moved Lost opposite it. Medium was great when it was on Mondays at 10:00. That's a pretty weak night for me. Tonight's my full line up night with all the great NBC comedies.

I'm sticking with Lost despite the flaws. It's an unfolding, interesting story. I stuck with Alias to the end and I'll be doing the same with Lost. So if you miss something, e-mail me and I'll fill you in :-)

Take care, Orion
P.S. I really enjoy the Official Lost podcasts with Lindeloff and Cuse. The podcasts are required listening for a Tufts University class. How interesting...college sure has changed from when I went!

My favorite night of television for the week! Did you notice J.J. Abrams directed tonight's Office? It was Joss Whedon last week. I can't express how much I adore that show. And Scrubs. Everyone's always talking about Grey's Anatomy and Scrubs is so brilliant and funny every week and gets no love.

I was perfectly happy with Lost last night since I must have missed all the promos promising revelations. Thank you, TiVo, for keeping those from me!

Well American Idol is the reason that Lost got bumped to 10pm. They didn't want to compete with that juggernaut. I don't blame them- they'd lose even MORE viewers (although I still haven't figured out why- I HATE Idol, but that's another story).

Anyway, you're right- the promo dept. has nothing to do with the show itself... why do we fall for the hype. I didn't play the online Lost game either & I think it's helped maintain some of my sanity (I'm not playing the Heroes one either for what it's worth).

I also think it's a good sign that Cuse & Lindeloff are already discussing an end trajectory for Lost. JJ Abrams ended Alias about a season too late & I hope they don't make that mistake on Lost. The final season on Alias was great, but I admit that I caught most of it on DVD- I'd found something else to watch by then. I hope they pull the plug on Lost while it still has something left worth tuning in for. Leave before the party's over right?

I have to disagree. I like this show because of the story and the acting and all the twists and turns they throw into it. If all people expect is answers, then there are plenty of other shows that offer storylines that wrap up after an episode or two. It's the same reason I like Heroes and 24. It isn't always about the answers, but how it's told.

I agree with jaxx. I, too enjoy the twists and turns even though answers are not always forthcoming. However, one answer I would like to know is this: Last season when the hatch blew up, why was Desmond's girlfriend, Penny notified. Does anyone remember this and are they, too wondering? To me, this is the biggest question(don't know why, though).

Oh, don't get me wrong. I enjoy LOST and will keep watching. I was just pointing out that they are going to lose more viewers by claiming to reveal answers and then not doing it! I won't be one of the lost LOST viewers :-) just yet.

I believe Penny is looking for Desmond. I think she thinks her father sent Desmond away. When Des had his dream, he told Penny about an island. My sis says that the writers have verified that they really had this conversation (wasn't a dream) so maybe that is how she knows to look for it. So, I think Penny is paying some guys to monitor an area and notify her of any findings.

Clarification for my previous post...

I do enjoy Lost, and am not looking for quick answers. I, too, enjoy watching the plot and answers unfold. My fear is that the answers won't actually come. My reference to Alias--often times, the episodes or seasons would end with a huge cliff hanger that was never later really satisfactorily resolved or explained. The biggest one I can think of at the moment (my husband could offer a few more) is what was actually in that important file Sydney found and used a black light to read (Jack then entered and told her she was never supposed to see it). My husband and I never felt that we got a good answer; it was as if the writers had a great cliff hanger, but couldn't come up with a resolution for it.
However, the final few moments of the series was awesome!!!

Feel free to disagree with me on any point! :)

I had no idea that either Abrams or Whedon had directed any The Office episodes!
Last night had me howling when Michael was trying to escape the straight jacket. I'll take Scrubs over just about anything, anyday. I especially love it when they have their daydrean sequences!!!

Take care, Orion

I loved the ending to Alias and plan on buying the special edition Rombaldi boxed set.
I find Lost intriguing because they're posing questions that might get answered or maybe not. Kind of like real life. But beyond the questions vs. answers situation, I think the writting, scenery, music and the overall atmosphere is so well done. Plus all new episodes until May-very cool.

Definitely check out the Official Lost podcast. They answer viewers questions and dispel a lot of misconceptions.

Take care, Orion
P.S. I thought the latest Lost promo was pretty funny. "Don't miss this episode or you won't know what they'll be saying around the water cooler the next morning"! I'm self employed-what water cooler?! :-)

I am employed in an office and we have a water cooler - but we have NEVER held a conversation around it! Where in the heck do people ACTUALLY do that?? :)

Yup, poor Sawyer finally fell in love with someone who's treating him the way he used to treat women. Isn't it ironic that he finally fell for someone that he can't get.

And I don't know if Kate will ever totally love anyone. Didn't someone once asked her "What happened to you Kate to make you this way?".

Take care. Orion
