I'm glad to see that some of them got returned! One of my boxes "went missing" here in Idaho about a year and a half ago. I'm still trying to decide if I want to re-carve that image.

I say replant them by July so I can find them when I visit again!! :-)

Since I'm driving out, maybe I can bring some containers and ziplocs to help the cause. I can't make logbooks as well as you can!

I happy to see a somewhat happy ending to this situation.

Thanks for everyone’s great suggestions. I think I may do a combination of things. Re-pant some locally, some re-plant out of state since they have already been re-carved etc. It is just such an odd assortment of stamps because the theme is all over the board. Some were planted in cemeteries but are all different themes, I have three from coffee shops, an ice cream parlor, random trails etc. Some are simpler older carvings and some are more recent with lots of detail. I guess it shows how all over the board I am with what I am in the mood to carve at any given time. And the trend with me has not changed over the years. I think another reason I am feeling overwhelmed is because I have a few other stamps that already need to be put together into boxes. What I am finding is I love to carve but my enthusiasms is really lacking in logbook making and originality of plants or clues. Don’t even get me started about unique containers. This may also be the reason I have a trove of Traveling Event boxes now. I guess it's time for me to get my nose to the grindstone!

How do you feel about Hawaiian themed stamps? I had an ill-fated trip to Maui in April. Came down with bronchitis and a sinus infection and was so ill I could not even maintain my own boxes while I was there let alone work on plants…you have my mind churning now…

Hawaiin..........sure .......we spend a lot of time out on our beach! That works doesn't it! I don't have outriggers on my kayak....but it's the right idea!

Mini-Meet in McCall? August? We are heading over on the 5th, so that first weekend is a bust for getting together; and we head home on Aug. 12 so the 11th is likely the best day for friends to join us at the lake! If that doesn't work you'll just have to take time off work, I'm thinking! Spike is coming too, unless he has a new job, in which case he will not be coming. Let's connect! I had to laugh at the irony of this. I go the same illness from a student at school just as Easter vacation started and it wiped out my vacation. Then my wife got it just as she headed out to Boise to see the grandkids the Tuesday after Easter. She spent the whole two weeks in Boise on the couch trying to get better, returned home and was ill for another two weeks. Her eardrums perforated on the return flight from Boise and she's still recovering her hearing. She was going to fly out as I drove out to Boise in July, but she's hesitant to get on a plane again...

We haven't finalized our August schedule yet. We're still trying to figure out if we'll be able to make it down to Boxer Lover's event on the 11th-12th. I know we can't be in McCall and Utah at the same time, though. :) We'll have to keep that week in mind, though, to see if there's any way we can get up to see you (maybe on Friday???).

August 11th??? That seems to be the one day of the month that is probably the worst for the Idaho contingency of boxers. We are all trying to make plans to head to Utah for Boxer Lovers Wasatch Summer Event. http://www.atlasquest.com/showinfo.html?gEventId=2505 And to make scheduling even worse I will probably be in Vancouver, Washington the prior week and weekend. Oh, the horror of missing you in Idaho. What awful timing all around. If I end up missing you completely I will try my best to get up there to plant before you come so you will at least have boxes of mine to find. Any chance you will make it back in 2013??? Could they leave you behind??? My spare bedroom is ready and waiting.

You know what was even stranger was that my brother-in-law arrived sick in Maui too. It was like the house of illness between the two of us. And the plane ride back was sheer misery. I was sandwiched between to women and could not sleep at all the entire way to Portland. Then I was stranded overnight and had to find a motel for the evening. I could hardly get my lungs to open to make the long walk from the gate to a shuttle bus. I felt like dead man walking! I hardly slept and had to get back up a 4:45 a.m. to catch a plane back to Boise the next morning. When I finally made it back to Boise I went straight to bed and slept for 5 hours solid. I missed work almost all of the following week. And adding insult to injury was the never ending cough. I left Maui with an entire bag full of medications from the pharmacy and was a $150 lighter from the doctor’s office as my souvenir. I feel your pain!!!
