I haven't met a lot of people that were real sticklers for no nicknames but I try to be considerate when I do. I have a friend who is a Rebecca. You had better not call her Becky or Becca. hehe Her daughters name is Samantha. There is no nickname for that that she finds acceptable either. She may just have to deal with it if her daughter grows up and decides she likes Sam though. hehe

And what about Uncle Milton Beryl...HE was Burl too. NOT BARREL

Yes, but his was spelled "Berle".

I'm sorry, but one just can't argue with The Church... "Beryl" is pronounced "Barrel", as is proven by the following historically accurate interview:

I too, am a Rebecca. I don't mind Becky or Bec, but do not like to be called Becca.
