I know a lot of wives that celebrate Super Sunday as a full day of freedom from answering to hubbies. **Holding up a cup of coffee** Here's to the SuperLadies of Plano Texas. Enjoy it girls!

Once, 20 odd years ago, I was invited to a Super Bowl party while I was working in America. To start with eveyone was watching every kick and throw, but by the end of the second period there were only a couple of dedicated fans still in the TV lounge. Everyone else was drifted off to the barbeque or pool and was only interested in the scores to see who had won the sweepstake for that period!

If letterboxing had existed in America then I would have been out looking for boxes instead.

Quote You'll find a very large sector of the population plopped in front of their televisions eating casual party food (like potato chips, hamburgers, and beer) and yelling at the TV.

Yeah, that pretty much describes our house! :) Except there won't be as much yelling since the Seahawks aren't in the Super Bowl.

However, at our house, standard Super Bowl fare is Buffalo Chicken Dip. YUM, YUM, YUM!!!!

I love Marjorie in the helmet on the home page! :)

In case you are interested, YT, the two teams playing in the game on Sunday are the Chicago Bears and the Indianapolis Colts. Since I live in Northwest Indiana, where there are fans of both teams, I have been hearing about this stupid game non-stop for the past week and a half. I will be very glad when it is over! :) But I like the theme.

Marjorie in her football helmet is too funny! I love it!! This "chick" can't wait for Sunday, either! One of these days I'll give you all a big "Who Dey?", but I'm biding my time. Kudos to Ryan on the theme!

Glad you told me too, TG - I didn't know..... ;-)) Actually, the correct phrase should be "I didn't care enough to find out." Not a football fan, although I did watch "The Replacements" on TV the other night, and had fun with it. Some funny scenes in there - hubby was aggraveted he missed it ;-))

I like the "anti-superbowl" trend (not as in "I hate football", but as in "I'm not a fan,") at craft stores and fabric stores where they try to bring in the ladies (or men ;-)) who's spouses are totally into the game, but they aren't. One locally owned fabric store has a "sew-in" or something like that, for Super Bowl Sunday. It's a class or bring-your-project or something - just a social time to have fun - but the Super Bowl is the excuse.

The commercials are fun, but you can see them on the net the next day (probably later that night).

Mama Fox - going to go check out Marjorie in her helmet!

Quote Not a football fan

That is me too, I come from an all female family (no grandfathers, uncles, nephews, brothers etc) so have never had to worry about sporty things. Thanks to all for putting me straight about the Super Bowl. If the theme changes it usually does it whilst I am have my first AQ fix of the morning, so I always feel honour bound to pass some comment :-D

We had two days of snow this month Diltian Martian, that is all. Didn't cause a problem letterboxing wise. The snowdrops are out now, so we will see what February brings.

I'm not really a football fan myself, but Marjorie just LOVES it. Who knows why? *shrug* Actually, I do know why. She's from Indianapolis (says so right there on the box!) so she's a Colts fan. She made me make the theme or threatened to quit her job in protest. Thus, the reason for her departure in the Winter Carnival theme--she was striking until I made a football theme for her beloved Colts.

But seriously--have you ever seen her try to catch a football? *shaking head*

Hey, where are the puppies? The truly big event of the upcoming weekend is the Puppy Bowl. Why would anyone watch football when you could be watching puppies??

I'm with you on that one, TG! I got a serious case of the giggles when I saw her with her own little football. She looks so earnest and ready to play ball!! ;-)

Not to mention the Kitty Half Time Show!

The under-the-water-bowl cam is my favorite.

Wow! The snowdrops are sleeping soundly under the snow (and ice) here! I will have to admit that I have been enjoying a 'real' winter for a change. I'm originally from Michigan, so it feels like home! :)
