Anyway, if anybody from the area wants to meet - let me know :-)

I might be able to make it. I'm heading down to SLO in a few hours, and that's only something like an hour and a half drive away. =)

We're getting there on Tuesday - Wednesday is "family" day, so I have Thursday afternoon - or Tuesday late afternoon??
If either of those days work, maybe we could have dinner at the campsite?
My stamps, if still there :-( are based on some of my favorite critters that we encounter when camping at El Cap.
Does someone want to carve a possum and/or a Monarch butterfly??

Well - the campgrounds cost $10.00 to just get in now, but there is a place to park at the start of the trail where the LB's are????

Ryan - saw a hiker today, crossing the bridge over the 15 Frwy. before the walk up into Wrightwood - can't believe it's been a year since I fed you guys spaghetti!!
Would love to see you - but that's a long drive for five boxes that may or may not be there :-P
Turtlegirl thought Thursday evening would be good for her, so if you want to come I'll be making Blue cheese burgers!

For the life of me, I can't think of what bridge you're referring to. I know the trail crosses over I-15, but it goes under that. The trail is always much more likely to go under busy roads that over it, and I can't remember going over any bridges in your neck of the woods. *thinking*

In other news, I'm flying back to Seattle today (so I won't be able to meet you at the "tiny-gathering" tomorrow), but I flew over your neighborhood this morning. =) I totally recognized Devil's Punchbowl from the air, and could follow the road walk out where you picked us up. And I could see that ridge, behind which my cell phone would not work, and Charmin and I started wondering how far we'd have to walk before it would work to call you. =) I think I could even spot Lorraine's place. =)

He was probably lost - ha ha
The wind was sooo bad, he might have decided to go over the bridge (138 overpass over the 15) from McDonald's area instead of through the wash where I'm sure the sand and grit was blowing beyond nasty -
Funny I was driving through SLO when you were flying over my neck of the woods - woods, well if you call Joshua's and cresote bushes "woods" :-P
It's definetly not hard to find my house if you know the right street - just watch for the curve and there I am
I've actually taken photos when flying into ONT
Found all the boxes at El Cap, so next time you're down you'll have to check them out
