if you have read my event I have put out there then comment.
Write one nice thing you have done this year to other people, just one thing. Anything like picked up garbage on the side of the road, helped someone pick something up anything.

Anonymously paid $20 towards the bill of a uniformed service member and guest at an Olive Garden in Wisconsin where there's no nearby base - I figured he was visiting, or coming from or going on a tour. Wish I'd given his server more money.

Did a wedding for a couple and the only thing they had to pay for was their license. Well I can't take all credit because I got tons of people to help, donate, and put things together so it was a group effort.

I don't want recognition for the nice things I've done. Knowing I did them is all I need. So how about I thank some nice people on AQ for the things they did.
Yesterday was the one year anniversary of the day I lost my daughter. It's a terrible day. Some of the wonderful people of AQ got together with my husband and carved stamps for me. My hubby hid them around the house last night and typed up some clues. Not only did I find stamps, but I got letters, chocolate, LTC's a beautiful scarf and a box of supplies. Although nothing takes the pain of that day away. Aq accomplished what I would not have thought possible. I smiled, I felt comfort and I knew that I wasn't alone and that Hannah was being remembered.
What a truly amazing group of people this is!

I want to recognize my students - one of the counselors at my high school pointed out a student whose family could use a Thanksgiving Box. She was thinking about putting it together herself with the help of some staff members and wondered if I could contribute something.

I told her I knew of another student in a similar situation and I wanted to take it to my FFA officers. The officers decided to host a Thanksgiving Adopt-A-Family drive in our Agriculture department with the goal being to collect enough food to support these 2 small families for Thanksgiving. The students in my department collected/donated enough food to support/help 5 families for Thanksgiving.

I like this better, to say something nice done for you. Since a lot of people don't really like saying what they've done, because then I wouldn't feel like my act was genuine. You know, the whole I don't want to toot my own horn thing. You know if you've done something nice, but do people know something nice has been done for them?

Please don't kill me! I'm just expressing how I feel toward myself, not others

I'm going to mention what I did today, only because I would like other people to think about doing it.

I stopped by the Starbucks right near my job. I used to go in once a week (when their cinnamon scones were good!) and I noticed a few police officers would be at a table talking, their motocycles outside.

I asked a clerk if they still meet there, as I hadn't been in there for months. She said they did.

So I bought a $10 gift card to be given to them the next time they come in. I did it because I wanted to support them in a positive way after the 4 deaths of the police officers in a coffee shop in Tacoma, Washington.

Does not killing your children count??

I read this, fresh from watching a movie with archaic english in it, and thought, what???
two ways to punctuate that, with two different meanings.

Does "not killing your children" count?
Does not "killing your children" count?

yes, not killing your children counds as a good deed. no, killing your children does not count...

romana, still giggling over percieved grammar.

Bought lunch for a pair of UCSB students studying in Madrid.....and, no, we didn't know them. We always do this for US students when we run into them abroad.
