Thank you, thank you, thank you... to Turtle Song, Bopp, Scout, and Eiryn (and whoever else was a part of the team, my apologies if I left you out) for a SPECTACULAR event!! I brought two newbies who had done very little boxing and never been to an event before and they had a great time. And the stamps... I'm blown away by the amazing talent we have in this state.

The day was fairly low-key and after last year's sauna, 70 degrees and breezy was a joy. And yes, I remembered to wear hiking boots instead of flip flops for those of you who remember my talent at injuring myself. I think I may have broken the streak! The trails were slightly muddy, but it was all worth it. I only managed to do three of the five trails, but I know several attendees managed to get them all. Dinner was fun and very entertaining, especially for those of us who got to sit near the Jigglets. Jigglet #2 had 7 cupcakes and I think that may have accounted for some of it... though the mysterious breadstick hanging from the wall as "decor" was quite amusing! Jiggs, I PROMISE, we weren't trying to stick you with the bill- we were just in the bathroom!!

Nightboxing was fantastic- I love the reflectors as markers. And the stamps were alternating between nocturnal animals and those of a "darker" nature! The campfire and s'mores made us all feel like kids again.

I know there must have been a tremendous amount of preparation involved and the day was perfect. Thanks again to all those involved. Can we order up another just like it for SS III?

I have to agree with red barn photos! Dragonwanderer and myself had an awesome time and we made it our goal to get every box at this event since we knew they weren't going to be permanent plants - by golly we did it. I think that this night boxing event was by far the best I've been to - it was well organized and well marked, plus the campfire added to the whole night boxing ambiance. I'm definently sad that we couldn't make it to last years event, but we are so ready for next years after this. It has had us thinking that we need to hold an event up towards the Oswego/Fulton, NY area in order to populate the area with boxes. Thanks again to all who planted boxes and set up the event - it was absolutely great.

PS. I got to pet the horses!!!

Yes, the event was awesome. We from this area are so fortunate to have such excellent carvers and people willing to do all the work to put on the event, and do it so well. A heartfelt thanks to Scout, Turtle song, Eiryn, Eagle Eye (who I saw doing so much), and anybody I might have missed mentioning.

An absolutely wonderful gathering. Thanks to all who put in time and hard work to make this a success. The weather was beautiful, getting nicer as the day progressed, and with a lovely evening. The trails were great, the stamps were wonderful, friendly people (making many new fiends and seeing old ones once again), good eats, lots of laughs, and a bit of soreness in the legs today. Who could ask for more.

Echoing everyone else: Every element was wonderful -- a nice sized group, meeting new people, seeing old friends. Every carving was wonderful, and my first night boxing experience was awesome -- looking forward to another opportunity. I'm pretty sure I established a new personal one-day record for boxes, too. Thanks to all the organization, and all those carving and planting hours -- I can't imagine! -- to Scout, Eiryn, Turtle Song, Magnolia Bud (carving with such skill already!), with ample help from Bopp and Eagle Eye (the friendly face behind us on those dark trails). A wonderful day.

Speaking for this southerner (well, from PA - as opposed to the folks who came from the frozen tundra of Ontario), I had a wonderful time - meeting up with new friends (mostly from Capitaland, Ontario, and NYS) and seeing some folks from gatherings past (MM still eeds more cowbell!) was the highlight. That and Wanda-like intensity on the trails! ;-)

A super shout out to the organizers - a totally excellent event. Pink and I are gradually leaving boxes up there for you to enjoy - I need to write the mystery box clues now. Bingoland is a new favorite destination.

Peace,

LB
