I've recently been called a "wuss" because I have a cabin reserved for the weekend. I guess I'm not hardy enough to really rough it like you guys with your reserved tent spaces, air matresses, running water, and electricty. HA!
If it does rain more than is tolerable, anyone is welcome in our cabin.
I'll be kicked back in a rocking chair, sipping a homemade beer thats been conditioning since January.
Meanwhile all you survivalist mountain people with be bivyed- up deep in the bush, with no means of communicating with civilization, struggling to survive. Making due with lean-to's, and snaring wild rodents with shoestrings. I only hope you can successfully answer the call of the wild (...hold-up.... is that someone's cell phone?...), and return back to humankind before another cold winter sets in. Maybe if the extended jungle exsposure did'nt stifle your mental facilties, you can write some memoirs about your harrowing adventure.
Cabin or not, I do hope it stays dry, because there many fun things to do in the rain, but letterboxing ain't one of them. Just ask Shutterbut. (Correct spelling would be one "t" at the end).

Buttercup, I'm sending boys to school until 11 and giving Jason a chance to pack the van with all of us out of the house. (The boys don't need to hear that kind of language!) My goal is to be on the road by 1:30.

We're driving straight to FDR and setting up camp. Once I have Ty settled, I'll be looking for a hiking buddy. I'm following the Buttercup/Hawkeye plan of sheet protecters on my clues...bring on the weather...I've packed my poncho. I'm ready sista!

Sassygirl, I'm right there with ya with humidity and my hair. Anyone remember "Roseanne Roseannadanna"? Good thing I bought a hat on the clearance table today. I think I may be the only person to have ever purchased a hat that says Buford, GA. :P

Call us when you're ready, and see where we are.

Buttercup® (who's glad you're protecting the boys ears. Don't want them teaching JQ new language.)

Ahem.

The occupants of le tente du SAELS de étoile, both human and canine, have not issued nor will issue proclamations of Mooky wussification, primarily due to the human's obsession with barley malt, yeast, water and hops and the intense desire to sample the indubitably delicious libations which le Brasserie de MookyDipper has so thoughtfully prepared and will transport to the 99 Bottles event in Pine Mountain, which begins in less than 24 hours.

Along that grain, should your cabin burn down in the rain, I will clear some space in my humble tent for the beer and yourselves.

Bon soir, mes amis!

Not hardy? Hardly! I do have recent memory of you two choosing the camping sans tent in the chilly Oregon air over sleeping in the snoring room from hell (don't blame you frankly - we were glad to have brought earplugs!) and didn't you guys also camp after that one freeeeezing Haunt up in No. GA? I believe it was below 32* that night! Hardly unhardy-like behavior. Given this group - you probably just want to keep your beer under lock & key!! :-)

Oh yeah - we're roughing it - with bathrooms, showers and even laundry within walking distance!

We don't need a frizz competition do we - 'cause I'm right there with ya'!

A Buford hat - gee, can't image why that was on clearance...

I'd like to clarify....I called him a WIMP, not wuss. ;)

SnS of (the correctly abbreviated) MSnB

PS - Mooky, it is only jealousy that you'll be warm....you are half the campout brainchild for heaven's sake. Gah!

Come on now....wading across a creek only to find last land marker for that letterbox is buried under water isn't fun to you?

Given this group - you probably just want to keep your beer under lock & key!! :-)

And given that taster of 420 Sweetwater that I had the privilege to partake of....that is a WISE decision! Now it is all making sense.....

Tent - No lock and key (depending on the integrity of other boxers)
Cabin - Lock and Key (taking opportunity out of the equation)

Bottom line......
Beer is safe and sound

We'll be praying for clear skies for all the lucky ones headed to FDR today! However, should the humidity descend upon said group, take lots of pictures of the Rosannerosannadanna Contest...ooh, and all of you crammed into Mooky's cabin in the storm!!

I'll be sitting on the sidelines of my umteenth soccer match cheering on my child but secretly wishing I was hanging out where the real fun is all weekend!

Have fun and stay safe!

Well since I just drove from Northeastern PA to here in about 13 hours yesterday, The last thing I'm ready for is to get back in my car and drive some more. I have a very messy house to clean. Buttercup and Isabeau brought dinner for my family while I was away but they didn't talk the DH into cleaning up. A week of 2 kids and 1 DH with no mommy to pick up after them equals one really big mess.
I might drive down on Saturday but I really just want to be home for a little bit. I hope you guys have a great time.
