Honestly, you can choose whatever method you wish for deciding on a box to go searching for, but I think by using a method that relies on an arbitrary bit of data logged online you are very well missing out on some great boxes.

That is your choice, but if that were my choice, I wouldn't be letterboxing at all, I would be Geocaching.
