We also use a single book for recording all types of stamps chronologically. Everything is mixed together in the order we found, placed, exchanged, etc. We also log them all in a spreadsheet, which makes it easier to figure out when (and therefore in what book) we logged the stamp.

I'm still a newbie, I have one log book for everything. It has 100 pages. And since I don't get out much, I think I'll be able to use it for awhile.
I like to keep journals, and I write about all of my letterboxing experiences in it.

I do have one small notebook I keep seperately. It's my "portfolio". I keep a copy of every stamp that I have carved

I use the same log book for everything except plants. I discovered the hard way that some people enjoy looking through other people's log books. I was writing my clue in next to the stamp as I planted it and gave away a few of my mystery boxes. Now I have a seperate box for plants, but use the same log book for finds, exchanges, postal boxes, and travelers.

sneaky sneaky sneaky

And I just realized I have the answer to my personal traveler next to that stamp! I also wrote down the answer next to somebody elses PT.

Sigh...gotta edit my own log book

Nah, if it was my scene I'd just start an exchange book, use the notecard idea like Boxdn suggested, or use clips to hold the pages that you don't revealed.

Good luck!

I use my logbook in a scrapbook style with pictures, the clues and notes on the hike etc on some pages. When I go to a gathering where folks might see something that they should not...the answer to a mystey box for example (you wouldn´t believe the number of people who have a mystery box and they give away the mystery with the stamp image! So you can´t show the stamp image to your buddies!) Anyway, I place post-it notes over the pages that I want covered. This is an easy way to edit it just for someone´s viewing.

We have one logbook for all our finds/ exchanges. The logbooks we use hold 100 stamp images, we are nearing our third book. It has worked well. We keep our plants in its own book.

We did keep a separate log for the Southeast Gathering. Somedays I wish we included those in our regular logbook. We included the exchanges from the Treasure Haunt and Tea With Friends events in our regular logbook. Sometimes I wish I did a separate log for those events.

We keep a scrapbook of all the places we go boxing. It is for plants and finds. I am very far behind but the scrapbook includes the clues we used, the fun we had, descriptions of finding the box and pictures.

If you ever get the opportunity to SEE Boxdn's logbook system you should. It is a cool system. If we were not so far along on our binder system, I would change to that one. Our little black binders store well on the shelf. Humm, maybe when we hit 400 I can change systems.

Anyway, there are so many fun ways to keep up with your stamps. Dibble around a bit and you will find that one perfect system that works for you.

I have a big spiral logbook, about 8x10 inches. I enjoy getting a whole series on one page.
I stamp on side and write notes on the other.
Someone gave me the idea to flip it upside down and backwards and do the exchanges and events the other way. When they meet in the middle I start a new book.
I don't really know what the advantage of separating them is. It was way easier to go through them to log them on AtlasQuest though.
I have a couple of stamps I feel inappropriate for public view. I cover them with postits.

I use one logbook for finds. If I happen to stumble across an exchange on the trail, I record the exchange in the "Finds" logbook.

I use a completely separate and MUCH larger logbook for Events. In that logbook, I record all event stamps, all event only "finds", and all event "exchanges".

This works as an organization tool for me.

I've seen some boxers use one HUGE logbook that is separated into categories. Unfortunately, that doesn't work for me because I need a trail find log that is easily portable (I use a 4x6 spiral bound index card deck, flipped backwards so that I stamp on the blank side rather than the ruled side.

My event logbook is an 8x11 spiral bound sketch pad with MUCH better quality paper in it.

There's my $0.02 !!
