I have some preforms. I just never thought of using them for a stamp before. I should have since I have found an unfolded stamp (and it's log) in a glass pop bottle. (It is narrow enough to fit through the mouth of the bottle.)

I wish I could claim it as an original idea but I got it from another boxer many years ago. But as you say we are a creative bunch. :) I actually wish I was more creative. I have seen so many things that just blow my mind.
I have used space age plastic centrifuge tubes I got online from some site that sells supplies to labs. The hinged stamp idea was great for that. Then use cash register paper for the logbook. Great for small spaces. And you can put camo tape around them if you don't want them to be clear. And you can still find film canisters on Ebay.
I have a couple of tubes I never used. Now I'm thinking I want to use them in a plant again!

An urban one that I've seen and loved was an electrical outlet in a bus stop.
If I remember right the face of it would side up to access the stamp.

Been to Oregon, have you. I'm pretty sure I know the one you are talking about. And it is awesome!
