Is my archive full?

Yes, you can put a maximum of 1,000 AQ messages in a folder and you have reached that limit.

Can I transfer a message from my inbox or from archive to a folder (1, 2, or 3)? If so, how is that done?

No, for two reasons. First, those folders are already full. And second, custom folders are actually a premium member perk. I created folders for excess messages before I added limits to the amount of mail people could save and grandfathered you in on those messages. Most non-premium members don't have those extra folders at all! So they're already full, but even if they weren't, you wouldn't be able to move new messages into them unless you're a premium member.

At this point, the only way to archive new messages is to either make space in your Archive folder by deleting old messages in it or to become a premium member which will allow you to create more folders (up to about 100 or so) and move messages into those instead.

AQ wasn't really designed to store all your AQ mail permanently--the server doesn't really have the capacity to do that. A better way to store all your AQ mail is to have it forwarded to an email address where you can store it instead. Forwarding it a Gmail account, for instance, even lets you search the content of the message if you're looking for a specific message--something AQ can't do. I know of at least one person who registered for a Gmail account whose sole purpose is to have a place to store all of their archived AQ messages.

In any case, a real email program is much better suited for handling thousands of archived messages than AQ which would be my recommendation. If you would still prefer to store messages directly on AQ, your only two options are to delete old messages in the archive folder that you no longer need or to become a premium member.

PS. You can have AQ mail forwarded to an email address from your Notifications and Email Preferences page.

Ah, yes...I understand now. Thank you for explaining.

and grandfathered you in on those messages.

I appreciate your grandfathering in all of my saved messages. I would not have wanted to lose any of those.

Thanks, too, for the reminder about the Notifications and Email Preferences page. I had forgotten about that feature.

So...I guess it's time for me to become a premium member! --Long overdue, actually! :)
