Schizokeet and I will be visiting in early June, camping in the Golden, CO area I hope. Plan to visit Golden, the Railroad museum, Lookout Mountain, Lakeside Park, and maybe get to downtown at the REI.

Any suggestions on must get boxes?

Would anyone be interested in meeting for an exchange?

Anyone want to trade a local beer for some Yuengling :-D?

Great! You MUST get the Buffalo Bill box at Lookout Mountain. Let us know the dates and we can do a mini meet at REI!

I would also suggest the Lariat Loop series. The beginning box is at the Lookout Mountain Nature Center. If you worked these from Blue (the beginning box) and go clockwise, you could get some in the Golden area.

I may also be available for a mini-meet - depending on my own trip plans not yet made (the joy of being retired, you take off whenever the opportunity presents itself).

It looks like June 6 will be the day we will be able to do that. Evening would be best as Schizokeet flies in late the night before and we will be doing the School of Mines Geology Museum (she was a geology major).

Not sure where you are camping, but I have two boxes within Golden Gate Canyon State Park: Camping With Friends, and Raccoon Trail.
Would agree that the Buffalo Bill Cody stamp is worth getting.

I have tickets for the CO Shakespeare Festival that night in Boulder. I will probably need to let someone else plan the mini-meet.

Most of what we want to do is in the Golden area. I am hoping to get a site in the Clear Creek RV Park, which is a city owned park and does not take reservations. If I cannot, I may end up in Cherry Lake State Park.

Plan is for me to roll into the Denver area sometime Wed, 4 June. 5 June I am looking to visit the Colorado Railroad Museum and Lookout Mountain. Schizokeet flies in that night, landing at about Midnight. We will visit the School of Mines and Golden the next day. Friday evening is the best time for a gathering, and while we would like to visit the REI, we both feel that a place to get diner and maybe some drinks would be a better option for a gather.

I've been working on a place to set up a mini meet ever since I came back from the DC area in February. There is a box called La Vache Bleue in Morrison that is planted in a restaurant (AQ#72249). Here is the link. Their site says they are open until 9 on Friday nights. Otherwise, I'll keep looking.

Morrison isn't that far from Golden. But, if you can't get into the RV park you are wanting to stay in, another location for a mini meet would be better. I know we are planning to meet you. I live in Parker so it's hard to come up with a restaurant in an area I am not familiar with.
For now, I'll post an event with location to be determined. CO people, please help with a place to eat if this doesn't sound like it'd work.
