Rochester Rendezvous

Just wanted to say what fun we had yesterday. Job well done jackbear and joystar for hosting such a great event. Shelter location perfect, food and beverages delicious, carves spectacular, trails wonderful (jealous of all the oak trees). Liked the garbage plate idea and how we built on it through out the day. It was great to see old faces and new ones. Wished we could have gotten more exchanges and chatted some more. We all know how that goes with unfound tupperware awaiting. And the breeze with the 93 temp quite nice. Thanks again for a great time

I have to third the accolades (especially the garbage plate!). This was my first big event and it was a perfect blend of exchanges, event stamps, and short trails. I was a little apprehensive given that I had heard how large events go, but both Jibbybop and I enjoyed ourselves completely.

And a special shout out to Tamsyn, Eiryn, and MissMoon for allowing us to tag along everywhere.

Many many thanks to Jackbear, Joystar, Wyvern, Lostgirl and Lyla bean I loved how the spread out boxes meant for no slack boxing pile-up's (one of my least favorite things about events) I loved the garbage plate (even though I would never eat one!) and we really enjoyed all the wonderful stamps (Son of Mushroom Even wanted to order a card game when we got home - which i did) now back to the grind of moving and trying to blend into my new parish -eek! wish I could have stayed in WNY so many more boxes and too little time!

Great thank you to all the Ballous..had a nice time even if I did start feeling a little under the weather later. Sorry I didnt' do my usual chase after exchanges...I'll have to catch you all later.

Loved all the creativity in the stamps and the presentations...down to the cloth stamp wraps with a picnic tablecloth pattern with ants!

I also really enjoyed the Swap Box. I was able to get rid of some pink stuff ( still can't stand using it) and some carving tools as well as logbooks and cootie containers I had hanging around. Scooped up a lock-n-lock copy as well as some erasers and a rubber stamp magazine. I think this should be posted on the event board and have other people encourage using a Swap Box at their events!

Thanks for the kind words everyone! We are on vacation now in Ohio, but we had a spectacular weekend with you all. A BIG shout out to Wyvern and LOSTGIRL for all their help. I could not have gotten all those boxes planted, and all the stamps carved, and logbooks done, and food bought and cooked without them!

Loved seeing everyone, despite the warm temps, it looked like everyone was having a great time getting boxes, you all are great 'troopers'.

My favorite part of the day was seeing my little girl come back from the Jelly Bear series with her aunt, grandma, and gradpa, with a big smile on her face and then her just chattering away about how Peanut Butter was afraid, the there was snakes, and so on and on. I hope you all had similar stories.

Until next time!

I so totally agree!!!
I gave up a bunch of small containers that I had leftover from past events and a smattering of AQ pencils. Got a logbook and ladybug container that I'm sure Lyla Bean will enjoy at the next event!

I thought that was a great idea. Hope it catches on!

A Garbage Plate is a Rochesdter icon from Nick Tahoe's restaurant. Hot dags (or hamburgs), home fries, fries, onion, smothered in hot sauce. An amazing "after the bars" late night meal!
