There are 2 available pins for ore order (and two mord that WEEKKEND) . They are $14 each. I'd do it bug already have some on preorder. There is also a patch but you can only get it if you do a breakfast or boxed lunch. The boxed lunches you need to preorder and pick up there as well.

I'm really interested too, Captain, if you don't have 5 to pre-order and it's $8.00 for S/H.

To mail them to one address, they are going to be about $16 each.

To have them mailed to one address, they will be about $16 each. The additional two were designed by Girl Scouts...how cool! I tried to get into the SWAPS breakfast, but they only had spots available for 9 am on Friday. BOOOOO I'm getting kind of bummed. :(

You can still do the boxed lunches if you have a group. It's about a 15 minute walk from the Mall (or so I am told)

MMACJ -
who may be wondering all over DC looking for the Hard Rock....

Five minutes actually, about three blocks off the mall next to Ford's Theatre, behind the Hoover building. It is also over priced and not particularly good.

Oh good to know. But you get a gs patch. Plus now I don't have to worry about where to get food for my kids :)

So I take it you live near DC? So if one wanted a stamp planted, could the send you a pm?

So--do you have to buy at least 5 of the same one, or at least 5 total? I'd like to get a couple--just let me know how this is going to work :-)

Its total. Are you sure it is 5 though? I thought it was 10.

There are loads of places to eat downtown, you won't have any trouble finding a place.

The one to ask would be Scarab, as he is down there a whole lot more often then I am (though I work just across the river).

I should have my boxes on the mall replace by the time you folks are down there, so it will give you a few more to search out.

I've been afraid of looking up boxes there - with so many people around! But if your boxes are on the Mall - I'll make sure we bring our stuff :) We are going on a bus, so I really am not sure what area's we'll be at so I've just glanced at the clues. it doesn't help when your not that familiar with the area :(

The information does not say you have to buy five per design. :)

I went to AAA and asked for a map of D.C.! Of course it only shows the real highlights, not all the restaurants or anything, but hopefully we won't get lost. I'm actually thinking about throwing my GPS in too, just in case... My daughter thinks it's time to upgrade to a smartphone ;-)

Oh--back to the original thread--I definitely want a couple of pins--how are we doing this? I am still waiting for Purple Penguin to tell me which one she wants...

All of the little green dots that you see on that map are places to eat. I can zoom in on them a bit more if you would like.

For the kids I would recommend Ollie's Trolley, it is a fun burger and hot dog joint. It is on 12th St and E St, one block up from the Old Post Office Pavilion (which is a NPS building with a free tower overlooking the city, great view).

I have been off and on working on a letterboxer's guide to DC, as we get a lot of visitors. I'll get it done and posted soon for you folks.

If Ollie's Trolley is the place I'm thinking of (with all the antique type carnivally stuff in the windows) it IS a fun place. If I remember correctly though, they only take cash.
