Sorry to reply to my own post like this, but I was feeling really motivated.

I started a blogger page with the reading schedule, starting on the 3rd of June. You do have to have a blogger account to post, but if you're using G-mail, they're connected so it's super easy. Here's the link:

http://harrypotterreadalong.blogspot.com/

Now we can enjoy some Harry Potter and not fill up the boards with our chatter. :) I'll post a new message every day with the chapter or chapters that we're reading so we can discuss.

can you add the blog to AQ so I can suscribe to it and it will show up on my mypage? otherwise I will forget to check it...and I don't want to forget this.

I have to admit, I have no idea how to do something like that. Do you mean just start one thread with it?

you go to people, manage blogs, then click on add blog, then put in the address of the blog (or something, the instructions are on that page. then you put on the thread that you've done this, and what you've named the blog...then we can go and click on the suscribe button for your blog...and each day when you post, the headline will show up on our mypage over in the letterboxing news widget.

it's not hard. It can't be that hard, I managed to get three blogs listed on here, lol. romana's ramblings is about my vacations and interesting "life stuff", writs r wrought is about my writing, and the third one is for book reviews, except I rarely do anything on that one, because I got busy...

Okay, I think I've got it going: Harry Potter Read-Along.

I hope we get a few people. I've missed Harry and it'll be good to have people to talk to about it again!

I miss them too. My oldest son (7) just finished reading the first book for the first time and so we had a big movie night to celebrate. He started the second book straight away.
It made me miss all the summer hype too. So I planted a "witch tor" series for PAL Day, and the two older boys each carved a Harry Potter stamp to hide as well. :-)

9 days for book 1.
34 days for book 7.
I'd forgotten how short the early books were!

Also, there's so much stuff packed into each chapter in the later books. I had to double up on more stuff than the original schedule included because we're starting a bit late, but I honestly didn't change all that much. I'm looking forward to this!

A note. I will be on vacation from the 4th to the 11th. I'll try and make it in every morning to post the new discussion thread, but if I'm a little late, super duper sorry.

I am blocked from the blogs here at work. Is that where all the discussions will be? I was really hoping to get in on these books! I love them and right now I happen to be listening to the audio book of Chamber of Secrets right now.

I know a few people who are not letterboxers who might be interested in this. Do you mind if I invite them to follow along or do you want this to be exclusively for AQers?

I think this will be a lot of fun!

Okay, here's the sitch. You can invite anyone you want, I don't mind. :) I don't really know how to fix the blocked blogging thing....I can start a group that sends e-mails to you but of course most people are going to be using the blogger since it updates on your page. But you can always discuss with us in the evening! :)

I'm interested to know how to get blogs on My Page as well since I'm not exactly sure how to do that.

For those who've never read the books before...this schedule might be a little taxing for you round about Goblet of Fire and Order of the Phoenix. But don't feel bad if you fall a little behind since the seventh movie will only be the first half of the seventh book. :) It won't spoil the ending for you.

If you put the Letterboxing News widget on your AQ page, any blogs that you've signed up for will show up. I just realized this today when I expanded "Letterboxing News" on my page!

If this is going to involve a lot of people and posts, you might want to start a special Harry Potter Board, similar to the AQ Book Club board :-)

That is very strange. I'm not a premium member and it's on my page--I think it was even there before the widget thing started. You're sure it's not hiding somewhere, minimized?

No...I checked. I think what happened was when I was customizing my page, I thought..hmm, probably won't need this one and I clicked on the "X" and deleted it...oops! Any way to recover this one?

Hmmm. Here's the info on "How do I use the Letterboxing News widget?" from the Help desk. Maybe it will help?

Turtlegirl 19, check out the "add widgets" on the top right hand corner, it may be listed on there. Look for Letterboxing News.

Hey all! Here's hoping you guys all see this.

I've had MAJOR internet issues for the past two days and have only just now gotten the darn thing to work. I think my neighbors are stealing my bandwidth and I've put a stop to that. I hated having to close off my wireless (I feel like it's a kind of share and share alike thing) but I had to do it.

I'm about to post a discussion thread on the blog for the last three chapters of Book 1. Remember that tomorrow is your day off to watch the movie if you've go it!

Purple Penguin and I just finished rereading book 1--we thought today was the day to watch? Not that we had time to watch television--maybe we will watch tomorrow!
