Not all Letterboxes on our login

While visiting our daughter, we were introduced to letterboxing. For some reason after logging in and searching for letterboxes and clues, we are unable to see all the letterboxes and clues that our daughter is able to view using her login name. For instance, the Women's Artists Series by Print and Pie in Bellingham, WA does not show up for us. So although we have found these boxes by using our daughter's printed clues, we are unable to record our find. Do you have any suggestions?

Thanks,
Sunnyslope

I would rather suspect that the placer has placed a Find restriction on these boxes. I use this feature to keep non-boxers from finding some of my clues for certain boxes I've planted. I would simply drop a note to the placer to determine if this is the case.

Cheers, Jiggs

Most likely boxes have a restriction on them. Find a few more, plant a few more and the restrictions should go away allowing you to see them. This same thing happened to me. Once I got a certain number for finds and plants the restrictions disappeared.

Yes - I live in the Bellingham area and Print and Pie puts restrictions on most of their boxes. I think you have to find 20 letterboxes and then they will show up for you. Welcome to letterboxing!

Once a month there will be a "hat theme" up on atlas quest and you can record any "unlisted" finds then. I'm not sure how the restricted part works if it's a listed box with restrictions, though...

That's when you find a letterbox that isn't listed on AQ. For more info, search for "unlisted" in the Help section.

Welcome to boxing, Sunnyslope. You're getting some good advice here about restrictions. Let me add that recent events in Washington have encouraged many local boxers to increase their restrictions... hopefully temporarily. If you go to the Washington message board, you can read all about the jerk-face who is finding and throwing away letterboxes here in the area.

Don't worry. Once you have cleared the restrictions, you will be able to log your finds with the date you found them.

I have way too many finds I have not logged. When I do log them, I just have to make sure I put in the date when logging — the default date when first logging is always the current date.

Welcome, welcome!!!

It happens to all of us from time to time for sure, but some people are REALLY bad about it. My current rough estimate is that Artemis has about 1500 she has not logged yet...
