went to our region's start at midnight party, and there was a really horribly bad musician there who thought he could sing and play guitar. He couldn't even find the tune to gilligan's island. seriously, he tried. even though he had music and words in front of him, he still couldn't find the tune. sheesh! I turned on my mp3 player and cranked it up and tried to ignore the man wailing in the corner. would you sing songs in public that you didn't know all the correct words to? well, he did. or tried to. I'm not sure I'd wall what he was doing singing though.

but as a result of hyper focusing in on my manuscript to block him out, I finished 1707 words in an hour and a half, between midnight and 1:30. a whole day's quota, finished! woohoo!

I'm off to bed, I'll likely write more when I get up. Chapter two is waiting for me.

That's wonderful! I just knocked off a whopping 116 words before church just to get rid of the zero on my profile. More later.

doctor was at the same write in as I was, but only got 550 written, which she says is her first chapter. I think she needs longer chapters. on the other hand, that's a third of her quota for one day, and more than half what she got written when she tried in 2006.
everyone progresses at their own rate. heart writer has more words than I, and I need to catch up, lol. I think mine is flowing well simply because I am still on a high from finishing my parts on the rough draft of the siege before midnight on the 31st. the people at the write in were astounded that I would finish one rough draft, then turn around four hours later and start another. with siege, now that the rough is written, I know liammial will leave me alone about the editing until I do the projects that have priority...which would be writing my nano story, and then editing one deadly gamble too many, which needs to be ready to go by April...

I don't think I'm done for the day, but have just over 1800 words. I wrote one backstory scene just because I needed to get it out of my head. I have no idea where it will actually end up in the story. I also have a little bit of my first chapter written. I'm only planning 12-13 chapters though.
I'm taking a break now to snack (he he) and help the girls type up what they have written.

I haven't written anything yet, but that's not really a problem. I'm going to a write-in tonight and I'm sure that I'll more than catch up.
