Entering clue URLs

Just as an FYI, please, if you host clues elsewhere such as LbNA, do not type www.letterboxing.org as the URL for the clue. That's the website of the clue, not the page with the clue, and it can frustrate people to click on what the think is the clue then have to search the site to actually find the clue. Please link directly to the clue, which will be an uglier-looking URL such as www.letterboxing.org/BoxView.php?boxnum=60011&boxname=Thou_Shall_Laugh

(The part with &boxname=whatever actually seems to be optional in case you type it in by hand, so it doesn't really need to be included, but it doesn't hurt to include it either if you prefer to cut and paste instead.)

I found about 60 boxes listed on Atlas Quest this way (which is less than 1% of the boxes listed--which is good! Thanks!) and have fixed them, but it's a lot of effort on my part so I'd really appreciate it if you actually open the clue itself and copy that URL to Atlas Quest when including your box. It makes it much easier for people who want to find your boxes! =)

Thanks!

Ryan, did you actually go through every individual clue or do you have a more effective search means than that? I don't want to think about how much time it would take to look at all of them!

Well, I did a search for all URLs that pointed to "www.letterboxing.org" or "letterboxing.org" but didn't have anything that came after it. Which drew up a list of not quite 60 boxes by a dozen or so people who listed the clue for the box at one of those addresses. That was the easy part!

The time consuming part was to search the LbNA website to find the URL for the actual clue and update at URL on AQ to reflect it. That took a couple of hours. A couple of boxes were listed as missing and didn't show up on LbNA at all, and for those I just removed the URL completely.
