I know that this has been mentioned on the main board at Yahoo! This movie looks like a letterbox quest adventure. It is coming out November 19th. It stars Nicolas Cage. Someone go see it and report back! Heck, I will probably go see it...I'll keep you guys posted.

This movie looks like a letterbox quest adventure.
When we first started lbxg, I immediately recognized that Shawshank Redemption would fit the theme beautifully! Between the nickname of the narrator (Red) and the scene with the cigar box in the rock wall, a lbx series seemed tailor made.
I researched the usa list, and saw where it had been discussed several years ago, but no one had done it.
Despite the lack of rock walls in Maine hayfields here in GA, I finally got the series done! Just posted it in the last week. It's not on LbNA.org, but it is here on AQ.
If you're ever this way again, please check it out!

Awesome! It is definitely on my letterbox to do list!
I had a An Officer and a Gentleman series in Port Townsend, WA in the park where the movie was filmed, but the 3 boxes were pulled by the park rangers and I had to retire the series.

Somebody (I forgot who now) at the Mysterious Visitors gathering had seen it and thought it was terrific! I think it got bad reviews from a lot of newspapers, but it did a fantastic opening weekend and from the word of mouth I hear, it is just a fun movie. (I think the reviews were about how far-fetched the concept was)

We saw the movie on opening day and were the ones that mentioned it at the Mystery Gathering :). This movie had the longest line! It is an entertaining movie...kind of on the lines of an Indiana Jones. It is definitely far fetched though. You can see the hobby of letterboxing throughout the movie and thankfully it is never mentioned by name. There is an interesting scene on what to do if you forget your stamp pad at a box (no more said as you need to see the movie <vbg>).

We also thought it was a lot of fun. Another scene mentions a way of coding clues that I hadn't heard of before. I went home and immediately solved the last part of VictoriAnna's The Pine Tree Shilling.
