New York Trip

I'm going to NY on 4/19 to meet with Charlotte Sheedy Literary Agency. Another step closer to getting my book published!
I can't say that I'm looking forward to NY. I'm a country girl. I did live a year in Chicago (that's all I could take). I remember my first trip there. I had never been on a train or even seen a building over 4 stories. I remember asking people for directions and people snapping at me to get on the "L". When I asked what this was I was told "the Loop". This still meant absolutely nothing to me. Mostly people just glared and walked away. By the end of the year I felt like my personality was getting meaner everyday. I felt as though no one paid attention until you were yelling. When I moved down South people I didn't know said, "Hi, how you doing?" I thought, "Who are these people and what to they want!" Apparently, the idea of being friendly to strangers had become foreign to me!
I anticipate the same big city nastiness in NY, and the feeling of being lost. Hopefully, I'll be wrong. I just keep reminding myself that it is worth it. I'll also take some letterbox clues with me.

Hook up with Miss Moon. She is a NYC boxer and a very nice lady. I think you can find her on the Main List and LBMA list. She may hang here as well.

I booked a flight and got my appointment time. The appointment time is 11am so I'll be heading straight to the agency. I don't know how long the appointment will last and then I have to have lunch after that. I'll be heading back to the airport at 5pm so I won't be able to meet you after work. I am very determined to get to at least one letterbox before I leave though!! It's nice to know that there is someone nice out there in the"Rotten Apple" (a bit comforting). Wasn't it nice that Lightninbug refers to you as a "nice lady" (which I agree-- thank you, Lightninbug!)? It's nice to know your reputation is good. It you are ever in Charlotte, NC let me know (my work schedule is quite flexible).

Good luck on your trip! I was never able to get in contact with the grabber of my HH. So I guess it will stay in the big apple a little while longer! :~( But, I do hope your trip is a total success.

I will be in Charlott next Mon, Tues, Wed & Thurs if you are back let's meet up for an exchange.

CR-
We just logged a response to the same posting within 5 minutes of each other! Freaky...

I don't leave until 4/19 so anytime next week is fine except Wednesday. I'll be in court all morning (I've got about 5 welfare fraud cases being prosecuted then) then I'm hosting the neighborhood bunco thing that night. I work M-Th but I travel out in the district doing homevisits. I can meet you anywhere in Charlotte, though, I'll just schedule up a few other homevisits in the area on my people and hit you inbetween if necessary-- just tell me the time and place. I'm afraid that my personal stamp is nothing special, though-- I handcarve all the ones I plant but never get around to carving my own (though I've had a design forever so we shall see). I've also never made any exchanges before.
