Bwwwwwaaaaaa, My first box has disappered. Obviously wasn't hidden in the best of places. A geocacher found it first and e-mailed me that he found it and replaced back where it was found and in good shape. I thought okay there are no geocaches around there it must be pretty obvious. So I decided to go move it, then it started raining and snowing here for the last two weeks. So I got out there today, and it's gone. The rocks and everything are gone. And this was a wilderness box. It was a mystery box that I worked really hard on the clues. I'm so dissapointed. Should I recarve and replace. I don't know. It was only out there for about a month.

Me too! whaaaaa! I checked on just my 6th box about 2 months old too! and it was gone tonight! Its was a great carving of Homer Simpson. While looking for the box I noticed I was being watched by a little old lady from behind her curtains across the street. Must have scared her to death looking through those bushes. Funny but sad all at the same time. boo hoo. Im gonna recarve and rehide in another spot.

So sorry to hear that! I hated losing my first box as well, but I learned from it and planted another one. Hopefully, all the ones we have planted so far will stay put!

Good luck on your next box!

While that certainly would be the ideal, if you plant more then your lost percentage will go down. Having letterboxes go missing, unfortunately, is part of the game. After the Time magazine article we lost 13 in the next ten days. We replaced some and retired others.
