I love my DVR!! We have one for each TV and I don't think I could live without it now. One feature that is really nice is you can set it to stop recording later that when a show is scheduled to end. For instance, I have it set up to record The Amazing Race every Sunday on a season pass and I set it to record 1 hour longer due to the fact that football ALWAYS runs late. Now I no longer get 30 minutes of 60 Minutes and the first half of Amazing Race.

...record your favorite series one time and not have to worry about if an episode is changed from say Thursday night to Wednesday night

Yes, my dvr looks for the show title and not the time it is on. Mine is through Directv and I can record 2 different shows at once and watch a third that is previously recorded. I can't watch a 3rd live show, so we had to watch DWTS upstairs Monday night. Can't live without my dvr!!

There still are gaps I think. Granted I have not actually tested this since I did not want to risk NOT seeing them but have a feeling that is a problem... For example, when the official titles are things like "Survivor: Gabon" and "The Amazing Race 12" then they are season specific and will not carry over from one to the next. Anyone actually tested this?

I haven't tested it, but I can look at future recordings scheduled.......that would tell you, wouldn't it? I don't have either of those two marked for recording...so I can't check.

The TiVo Series 2 does not work with antenna, but TiVo HD does, according to the website.

Gee, that's not exactly unique. I do that with a regular VCR.

I would rather give up my precious cell phone than live without TiVo again. Takes the guesswork and stress out of watching TV!!

If the shows are season specific with numbers or locations like the reality shows, you DO need to create a TiVo season pass for each season. So things like Survivor, Amazing Race, Biggest Loser, Big Brother need to be set up each for each new season.

I thought those shows wouldn't record too but some of the future seasons started recording when I had forgotten to set it up. I was relieved - but i wouldn't rely on it.
