Quote anyways, sudoku is the best.

I don't know about that. I've done them for years and they're kind of dull, I think. I've always loved getting the Dell Math Puzzles and Logic Problems rag and I'd do the sudokus when I needed a change of pace from the other more interesting puzzles. And this was long before they were ever called sudokus and became the fad that they are!

My favorites are actually the cross sums--which also picked up some bizarre Japanese name overseas then returned to the states with the new name, which I can't think of off the top of my head. Seems so wrong to turn an American invention into a Japanese spinoff. *shaking head* They'll always be cross sums to me. =)

I enjoy the word arithmetics too, and those haven't even been Japanized yet. =) Logic puzzles are fun too, though, but I usually spend most of my time playing around with the cross sums and word arithmetics until they get too hard to figure out. (I do get most of them, though!)

Sudokus I can take a pass on, though.

Agreed. Love the math and logic puzzles, do sudokus for light puzzling.

I haven't tried the Math Puzzles, but I do enjoy doing Logic Problems. Could pass on Sudoku though. Another letterboxer has clues for a box set up in the form of a Logic Problem (SpringChick, I think).

Yes, I think some of hers are immensely fun to read. I always loved the logic problems. Here is a good site that always has at least one logic puzzle. You should also take the time to explore other puzzles on the site--there are lots of fun time-wasters.

I have two mystery boxes planned. One I don't want to give away. But for the other, I am going to use one of those linguistic logic problems that you always see in Games Magazine. You know, where you have to figure out the grammar and then what the individual words mean and then apply that knowledge to actually solve the clues. Figuring out how to make the clues work right has been tough--but I'm still working on it when I have the opportunity. Look for Alien Logic in the next few weeks.

On the topic of soduko and other logic puzzles, anyone do Paint by Numbers? Not the ones where you actually use paint, but the logic puzzles which yield a picture if solved correctly.

I'm a Games Magazine junkie.

I love logic problems! But my all time favorite are the cryptoquotes! Luckily they have one everyday in our local newspaper.

This is my favorite Sudoku site...

http://sudoku.com.au/

When you complete the puzzle you get a photo as a reward. The photos are pretty amateur but it's fun to get a surprise at the end.

Yup, a couple of them using logic puzzles:

Summer Vacation Mystery
The Case of the Missing Salmon

I have a new box waiting to be planted using Sudoku Puzzle as part of the clues, but will probably wait for the snow to disappear before putting it out.

Fun Stuff!

I have been trying to figure out a Sudoku letterbox myself.

Awesome if you do it first!
